Honestly I'm surprised you were put into an IV league at all. Usually everyone just joining the game is put into V. league. I know you probably want to go out there and win, to stay in the higher league, but the best thing that can happen for you is to get demoted and hopefully get someone in the draft. Otherwise you will most likely just get crushed the whole next season and get demoted then, while if you demote now you can train some younger players and get a better feel for the game before you face the IV. level teams.

Ok, it sounds like it is basically just like a rebuilding process, but it looks like you would get more money in league IV though.

They seemed to change things this season, and I think most new teams signing up in the USA were put straight into D4. I do think it's a bit tough on brand new folks to do that.

It's not about changing things, it's about the amount of available teams. Of course they will replace D4 teams first.

Perhaps, but I just note two things: last year, about 11 brand new teams were assigned to my D5 league, and this season only two at the very beginning. That is coupled with last year a fairly large number of bots in D4 that would support bot cleanup promotion from D5. This year there are few bots in D4, and likely there will be few teams promoted via cleanup.

And actually I think it's bad for new managers to get put straight into a D4 league. You're not ready to compete, and I think it's likely that some managers would become frustrated with the game quickly. Better to leave open teams as bots and fill them with the best non league champions from D5.

yep. I had about 4 new teams added to my D4 league and 2 are going to stay up, 1 by winning the relegation series against another new team and one that started about last week and ended in 5th place. Next year, they still won't have a chance and that's no fun. I don't expect them to last long, especially with losses like this every game: http://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/36167343/boxscore.aspx
