Let's get ready for the new season here! What do you think of your club's chances this season?

Here in Point Barrow, we've had another good draft class come in. Some day all of this scouting will pay off. Got the new center that was atop my list. Although undersized, at 6'8", he was the top player on my board. I think I found some value in the second round as well again this year.

I think Royal Eagles, Sharks, and myself really did well in landing the top 3 picks in the middle part of the first round. I guess that means more league turnover throughout the season again.

Still taking the long-term approach and with last season being our first playoff, we hope to build off of that success. The past few drafts and a couple of lucky signings are starting to prove their worth.

Our goal again is to make the playoffs. We won't compete with Rogues, Hawaii, and Martins, but we're closing the gap!

Well, I'd like to think my chances are pretty good. But with Hawaii still here apparently I don't have much of a chance to even make the Finals.

My goal coming in to this season was to shift focus to training a couple bigs. I think it says a lot about our conference that Ryan Swan, my starting center, made the All-Star team with a salary of 5-6k. The inside game has also been my teams biggest weakness. In the draft I was able to take the first step in fixing that by selecting 7'2" Ronald Isaac, which was our number one choice. His secondaries leave a little to be desired, but his potential is what made me target him.

One of the fun parts of this game for me is to try and develop players good enough to make it on the U21 Team USA, and Ronald fits the bill as the type of player who has a chance to get there. Although I plan on doing a slower build with him, so he might not make it.

Martins looks to be in rebuilding mode, so I'm expecting another battle to the finish with Hawaii. PrivateSnowflake, you're definitely on the right track by getting your arena built up. I was just talking to another manager about how essential that is. You'll be able to get a good team faster, and if you're forced to rebuild it will speed up your recovery.

SHARKS.....Watch out guys. This team is for real. Got some unstoppable bigs. Good outside guard that will light it up. I knew this was going to be a tuff one. Good game Sharks.
Other managers, you have been warned lol.

I'm surprised there's only 3 unbeaten teams after the first week.

Rookie Fidel Crespo was a great purchase for the Rogues. I didn't think he'd sell for less than a million, but I lucked out and got him. 14 points, 15 boards, 7 assists, and 4 steals. Not bad for his first career game! Along with our draft pick, Ronald Isaac, the future is definitely bright.

Best of luck to everybody!

Really pondering on selling off a few of my outside guys and go young with a couple guards and wing players. Liking the idea of training a few of my own but of course keeping my studs. This move may knock me out of playoffs race but really liking the idea of training my way with a fresh set of young guys. And of course use some money to upgrade my draft an scouting

Just speaking as another set of eyes: Your team has gotten quite old. If you aren't competing, then now is the time.

You have a few guys who could blossom: Anselmo, Peck, and Castle. Definitely need to re-stock with a couple or three good drafts. The Pacers have a noticeable lack of youthful talent coming up. You could quick fix for the short-term and sign other older stars, or go long-term and raise your own. A tough choice I had to make a few seasons ago and while we struggled, I believe I have stocked up with some serious talent.

I spent the max on scouting and was pulling good potential guys, even in the second round.

Yes sir indeed...I have a few vets but still very competitive. But I'm seeing they're skills drop way to fast this season. As I am selling some of the vets off I still wanna keep a few. But start beefing up training for my young core. Thx for ur input...I appreciate it.
