The road for our boys has finally ended as we lost to undefeated Lithuania U21 today. That leaves us with a 4-4 record, missing out on the knockout stages by 1 win.
This season was marred by a few unfortunate events, with the previous manager of Bernard Duan going inactive then followed by the loss of game shape from Lin Changjie. However, we managed to pull through, thanks to the amazing game shape management from the managers of our U21 players.
Moving forward: we have 3 players who will still be around, Abdul Chaudri, Chow Choon Dong and Charlie Teo. Fortunately for us, these three players have occasionally took spots in the starting line up, so expect us to rely on them heavily next season.
NT watch: our senior NT will probably be poised for future should our current prospects keep up their training. While we have 3 MVP potential players staying put in the team this season, we have 2 more MVPs and 1 HoF which will graduate, hence start their journey towards the senior NT. We wish them all the best and look forward to them representing the country at a higher level.
Coming up next: since we have dropped out of the U21 Consolation Tournament, I will be calling up next season's provisional squad so their training can be tracked closely, as well as allow us to check out our upcoming U21 prospects. Stay tuned to check out who makes the team!
