So we're halfway through the group stages of the European championships and we find ourselves with a perfect 4-0 record. This is slightly overwhelming considering we've played the four weakest teams so far and are games that I would expect to win! Our next three games define our season and I'm guessing we'll need to win at least two to potentially qualify for the next round.

The majority of players have been in good game shape throughout, but we have missed a couple of key players.

I've also spent a fair bit of time scouting for future seasons and have been in contact with several managers regarding training plans, particularly MVP potential and above. If you feel I have missed your player, please feel free to contact me.

Hi SGM!

I can assure you I know their skills and they'd be in the squad if they were worthy :)

Malfoy was in the squad last season and played at times, but has been transferred a lot and largely been in poor game shape since. Mahoney is pretty decent and on my backup list, but the others are too one dimensional / with too clear weaknesses to be useful at NT level (in my opinion)

Are you completely new to BB or have you played before? I feel the team name is vaguely familiar...

Nice win last night! Let's see if we can pick up one more win out of the final 2 games. Both games look tough

Also a good win for the NT team against Canada, especially with Marichal being out injured.

Hopefully both teams can make it through their group/round.

Thanks mate, it was a great win indeed. Got tense at the end but glad we could pull it off! Hoping for a positive result against France now.

Just to echo what you said, impressive win against Canada and we’re positioned nicely with the National side too!

I thought we had a shot to be honest (nearly beat them last season), and was glad we didn't draw Finland or USA as last week those 3 seemed like the most likely options.

I was considering the crunch anyway (am somewhat surprised Greece went TIE), but Israel-Belgium (opponent in the next round) started about half an hour before our game so I was able to scout that. Belgium crunched, Israel TIEd. If we got through, home advantage vs Belgium = same enthusiasm, fine with that. If we faced Israel we were losing that either way so no harm in crunching...

I suppose we were in the game, it's just the final score / 4th quarter that makes it look worse.

Look at every other game too - no away team won despite multiple crunch vs TIE efforts. Home advantage just seems very strong, stronger at INT level than club level even. Alternatively: the bar for an NT starter is just very high, and we're 1-3 players short (and not getting closer next season, which makes me wonder what to do next...)

In these games, you've got to give yourself a chance and crunching allowed us to do that. Thinking back to the U21's, I regret not crunching as I didn't give us a chance of realistically winning, so I'm definitely supportive of your decision. Home advantage is hard to overcome.

I agree. It's clear to see the decline and availability of young talent we have coming through for both the National and U21 side. Makes our jobs harder as expectations won't change hugely.

Now that the NT Scout tool seems to be dying a death, scouting has become a lot harder. If anyone who has a U21 prospect can message me informing me of their skills, that would be great. I've got a large database of players from previous scouting reports but obviously won't for the new draftees.

In other news, Arrowspg5 has offered to assist me in scouting and become part of the U21 squad, so please send your players skills on if he asks and I look forward to working with him. (90806)
