I had three 'keepers' on the roster I started with. Swapped everybody else out for cheaper prospects with star potential or better for 5k or less per transfer. Only overpaid for one guy, so I hope I'm good. Paying too much for my trainer, but hopefully he gives me a boost before I have to fire him :)

By the way, when do the draft prospects become available to scout?

After the all-star break. It sounds like you know what you are doing. Do you have experience?

I played BuzzerBeater for a month or two a year ago or so until I had a problem logging in. I've played games similar to this one as well. Figuring out the value of players is different for each game. Most of the ones that use a transfer market are similar enough that the experience transfers. I tend to enjoy building a team more than playing for immediate wins, so I'm willing to take on undeveloped prospects with potential over finished products :)

As far as the transfer system, I would say that Hattrick is similar enough that experiences buying players there translates, at least somewhat to BuzzerBeater. Charazay also has a transfer market, although I haven't played that game enough to say if it's in line with BB's system
