Following the draft an awful lot of meat (rookies) goes on sale, often for very low prices. There are often so many of these that people are able to pick up high potential players for low prices. For example a HOF potential 19yo might only go for as little as 16k.

Some unscrupulous people buy players like that and try to sell them at vastly inflated prices, hoping someone might not notice how high the price is that they're paying. That same 16k purchase might be advertised for, oh, lets just pluck a figure from the air, we'll say perhaps 150k. Clearly in, however many days might have passed since that purchase, lets guess about 10 days for the sake of argument, he can't have increased in value 10x. Certainly whatever training he may have gotten, and lets face it, he probably hasn't been trained, has not increased his value. Or, metaphorically, the price of meat doesn't change much in 10 days.

In summary, what I'm saying is: CHECK WHEN A PLAYER ON SALE WAS LAST BOUGHT AND FOR HOW MUCH BEFORE YOU BUY.

Any resemblance to actual events or locales or persons, or BB players on the transfer list, living or dead, or even fictional BB players with a meaty name, is entirely coincidental.

There are always unscrupulous meat sellers around. Not just at draft time. And they could be from anywhere. Without wanting to single out a particular nation, the saying "Beware of Greeks bearing gifts" comes to mind.

It's happening:
1 post per week on the Greek forums to rid the English community of Kosmas (Thimios). Starting at 1.1 million like the garbage that gets promoted on our forums and going up every week by 5% until someone buys him. In 1 year he'll be priced around 14 millions, but hey, inflation is inflation.

I'd love to report myself and any bidder, if he ever sells lol.

There are quite a few of English on the market at the moment at outrageous prices, its a real greek tragedy.

Especially if they want to come on our forum an advertise that they are trying to mug people off.

There are too many Wong prices on the English market (you get me) and if any newer managers want to ask about whether a price for a player is fair, feel free to ask one of the more experienced English guys via BB-mail. They will help you out.

One thing I forgot to mention is this. Don't believe the ads. The seller is trying to make his player look like a mansion in its own grounds, when in fact he's a tiny bungalow without a garden.

If the ad says buy this great passer, and he's from a d4 team and his passing is strong, then he's not great. Never, ever believe an ad.

Unless its one of my sales!

sometimes there are very cheap boughts ... so you can sell for high prize them ...

I absolutely agree. I have sold players for a profit. There's nothing wrong with doing so. I don't believe anyone is saying that though so your intervention seems needless.

I don't think anyone can argue that there are some people who buy cheap players, especially 18/19yos and over 33s and attempt to exploit others by selling them for double, triple or even more. This is what this thread is about. Not stopping people from making a legitimate profit.
