We kicked off our Asian U21 Championship campaign last night against Macau U21. It's been a great training week for our boys, as most of them had quite good game shape. Kudos all managers, and I hope we keep this up.

Seet Woon Loong has been a dazzling star for us so far, getting a double-double in every game, with 14 points and 14.7 rebounds in the last three games. He also showed his inner Jokic by averaging 6 assists in the first two scrimmages we had against Malaysia U21 and Indonesia U21 respectively. On the defensive side, he averages 2 blocks per game.

Another standout player we have in the team is Dhisna Chaddha, who seems to have solved the playmaking problem our U21 have been dogged with in recent seasons. The 20 year old playmaker has dished out an average of 6 assists per game, and limited his turnovers to only 1 per game. He also had a breakout game against Macau U21, finishing the game with 21 points and 7 assists. He hit 9 of his 14 field goal attempts, and scored 50% of his three pointers (3 of 6).

Our next game is against Vietnam U21. Let's hope everything go well, and keep up the good job coaches!

Our boys were handed our first lost today, in a crazy match that defied logic. New Zealand U21's manager went with a blind GDP and got lucky because I decided to switch out of our usual tactics in order to throw off Hong Kong U21. GDP wasn't really the main reason we lost though, we kept them at bay in the first half. But turnovers and misses started plaguing our team in the second half as they beat us by 14 in the third, and that sealed the game.

On the plus side, we had a great training week, with only 1 player having respectable game shape, while the rest had strong and proficient. Really glad that the players are all in good form. Kudos to all managers who managed their players minutes well.

With New Zealand U21 virtually sealing their qualification for the next round, we will be involved in a three way battle against Malaysia U21 and South Korea U21 for the final 2 qualification spots (seeing that Hong Kong U21 will probably qualify with a perfect record).

Our standout performer in the recent games was Kwok Yi Wee. He displayed an all-round game against Vietnam last week and getting a double-double (10 points 10 rebounds 4 assists) and was our top scorer tonight with 17 points. Meanwhile, Seet Woon Loong continued to be a defensive force as he kept up his 2 block per game performance.

Let's hope we put up a decent game against Hong Kong U21 next week. We definitely won't win, but staying close would give us the upper hand in terms of point difference.

I wouldn't say it was a blind GDP, nor was it lucky. I gave it a lot of thought and second-guessed myself a lot but eventually went for it as I saw that the benefits outweighed the risks.

Nonetheless, great game, especially late in the fourth quarter where your backup PG shot three in a row from downtown. You have a great squad and should progress to the next round without a doubt. Good luck for the rest of the season!

I knew you'd read this. It was definitely lucky, if not blind. I didn't want to get caught out by teams for catching me playing outside, hence I played inside with hopes that it would throw HK off. But then I guess I underestimated your team and shouldn't have put HK as our target instead.

That said, well played with the CT and congrats for making the next round. Thank you sharing your pregame thoughts. You're right that the benefits outweighed the risk for your team (especially with you clearing the harder teams of the pool, giving you chances to recover enthusiasm before the next group stage). This game has given me some good pointers I should take into account in future games.

Although it was more or less confirmed after last week's game against South Korea U21, but tonight I am glad to announce to everyone: "WE MADE IT!"

After the shocking loss to New Zealand U21, our boys were handed a second consecutive loss against group favourites Hong Kong U21. It was a terrible blowout loss for our team, even with Ma Kuan Min carrying the team with a game high 34 points. That was probably the only positive out of the game, as despite trying to catch our opponent's defense off target, we fell to an embarrassing 60-87 loss.

Our boys bounced back the next game to go second in Pool A by beating South Korea U21 104-77. The Koreans owned the boards on both sides, reducing us to a measly 31 rebounds in the game while grabbing 20 boards on our side. However, our smooth defensive play forced a lot of turnovers on their side (19 turnovers in total, with their star PG Dong-Yul Kang losing the ball 7 times) to get possession back to our side. Ma Kuan Min once again burst into form and dropped team high 23 points with 71% shooting, alongside fellow teammate Dhisna Chaddha. Team captain Seet Woon Loong once again had a pretty quiet game, however his presence on the field was also important, as he dished out a game high of 4 assists.

With the Koreans facing group leaders Hong Kong U21 tonight, we went into tonight's game with one foot in the next round and without pressure. However our boys might have been too relaxed as our neighbours raced to an early lead in the first quarter. Malaysia U21 manager Nicholas seemed to have been watching our team closely, as he dispatch Willy Gatut, who was like Marcus Smart tonight. Despite hitting 3 of 12 shots from the field, he was strategically placed to defend our best shooters. Thus Ma Kuan Min was suddenly brought down to earth, shooting 3 of 16 from the field and losing the ball 3 times. Then Kwok Yi Wee took over the game. Finishing the game with a double double, game high in points (19), rebounds (15), and assists (5) while picking up a team high 3 blocks, Yi Wee's fine performance let our boys overcome the early deficit, and weathered the storm that could have come after Seet Woon Loong left the court injured.

With New Zealand U21 crashing to a second consecutive defeat, we make the next round together with our neighbours Malaysia U21, and probably Philippines U21, Japan U21, Taiwan U21 and Iran U21. Despite only having to face one Pool champion, our chances in the knockout stages are bleak, as Taiwan U21 and Iran U21 are as good as any pool champion.

Thank you!

I should say that it's all thanks to the managers training the players in our team. Their game shape has been pretty good lately, kinda giving me a selection dilemma at times. Well, it's a problem I won't mind having more often. Hahaha

Thank you. My hopes aren't too high for the next round tho. I hope we can at least come in 4th. Top 3 will be too hard to break.
