Hi all,

Happy to be re-elected (with 1 vote) for my 13th and 14th season!

I've done all the scouting, which results in these players.
We've got a great outside squad, but lack (a lot of) inside players.

(45935202) Milorad Dimovic - Bisamberg Torpedos
Milorad is a 21-yr old SG, with a specialty on JR. But he has also decent inside skills for a SG.
Last season Milorad was 2nd in scoring (170 pts) and 2nd in assists (42) overall for the U21.

(46464857) Manuel Dober - Meidling Parrots
Manuel has a great drive to succeed in the U21. He's a better freethrowshooter than the average player.
He just lacks passing for the guard-positions and ID for PF. Good option on SF in an outside tactic.
With 21-yr old it's his final season in the U21, but with his potential and current skills i'm sure he will make it
to the NT.

(45935321) Günther Hartlieb - Virtual Insanity
Nice, allround backup delevered by Deleario. Allround skilled MVP, 21 yr, for the SF Position.

(46464959) Philipp Hu - Joe.City.Nets
Philipp is on the team to gain some experience. 20-yr, 185cm. Next season should be HIS season.
Great defender by the way, but needs PA and has no inside skills.

(45935189) Predrag Kara - Lyon Villeurbanne
Our leading rebounder (167 reb.) of last year is luckely still with us. With hardly any inside trained austrians
(guess also a problem for the NT) i'm happy to have him. Great inside, good couple with Zangerle.

(46464843) Felix Kempf - Meidling Parrots
Exciting to see how Felix develops over the years! This TSP on this age is great for the NT in a couple of years.
On the other hand, for the U21 to be succesful i also look at the primary's. To be a starter these could be a bit
higher. But he will make his minutes this season, is only 20-yr and for sure a starter next season.

(46465055) Martin Lachmayer - BV Mitterkirchen
20-yr old, allround trained, Potential 10. This sounds like a great future player for the NT. With his 206cm he could
become a great PF/C. Hope he gets his inside primary's for next season, but for now he's a good option for SF.

(45935222) Marko Mischek - Pana Fire/Wave (Utopia)
Marko is a nice player to have as a backup in the team. Won't play to much because he lacks primary's,
but on the secondary's he's good. Will have to fight to get his spot on SF. But, trained and pot. 9, also good te see for the NT

(45935226) Eduard Neuhold - CB Schnubu
Another MVP, well trained, high TSP. Great defender, the alternative for Dimovic on SG.

(46772709) Roman Reinhard - Obradoiro B.C. (Spain)
Roman is a 20-yr old, 206cm C/PF. This season he will be the backup for the duo Kara/Zangerle, needs to gain
some skills to be our nr.1 C next season.

(45935324) Franz Rümmele - Bisamberg Torpedos
Pot.10 PG, our nr.1 for this season. Last season Franz was the nr.1 in assists (49) and nr. 3 in points (162).
All outside, when it comes to inside, Franz keeps out of the way.

(45935194) David Sariyar - CB Schnubu II (Utopia)
21-yr old, David has to compete with Swarz for the backup position. David is even worse than Rümmele when it comes to an inside game. Compared to Schwarz, David has the better JS and Stamina, but Schwarz has by far the better inside game.

(46464944) Thomas Schwarz - Flexible Flamingo's (The Netherlands)
As i told above, Thomas and David Sariyar are the options for backup-PG. Thomas has the better Inside game and is a year younger.

(46464819) Sascha Steyrer - LA Lakers
Looking at his skills : it's a guard
Looking at his height : it's a C/PF
But Sascha is only 20 yr old, let's see how he develops into next year.

(45935278) Herbert Zangerle - Crazy Crocodiles (Utopia)
Like Thomas Schwarz, another player from my 'regular' teams. With Kara our (only) option inside.
Herbert lacks (a lot of) outside skills, but is a great rebounder (3rd last season)

15 players, the team is complete and a few places to save talents / add prospects.

There is a big improvement in skills, and the players are in a lot of different teams, mostly in Austria.
Keep up the good work!

This year's U21 Europe Championship Tournament is played in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In Round Robin we are placed in Group C with some difficult country's and some 'must-win' games.

Russia (19)
Currently 17 players selected, except for two all playing in Russia. In the Top-6 salary there are 5 C/PF, probably the will play inside. outstanding C (Eliseytsev) and PF (Grigoriev).

Latvia (27)
Another strong country is Latvia. The current roster are all +11k.-players, but not as high as Russia. More diverse with PG/C. Top-players are Bremeris (PG) and Zilaucis (C)

Portugal (36)
In the 3rd game we meet Portugal, another strong team with 4 +32k. C's. There focus will be to get there 224cm. 50k. C in position, Joao Oliveira.

Germany (3)
If that wasn't enough, we also meet Germany, currently world-rank 3. Just take a look at there roster, and you'll agree Germany is a mission impossible. I think Kara will have a hard time defending an 107k. C (Zeiper) or an 73k. C (Adams)

Iceland (74)
Finally, after 4 hard games we have a change to win. Iceland is our 5th opponent. But we shouldn't think this will be easy, as Iceland has a decent squad. Take for instance Astmundarson on C (26k.) and Theodorsson on PG (19k.) But in the end, this should be an win as we have the better roster.

Wales (93)
Wales is, in my opinion, the easiest opponent, as they don't have a 'star'player in there squad. This should be a win, but every other team will win also.

Switzerland (47)
I think we will fight for fifth place in this Pool with Switzerland. Then it's fun to play them last. Comparing the rosters, Switzerland has slightly higher salaries but mostly in the C-position. Should be a great, close game. Looking forward to it!

But first Russia !

Like expected we didn't have a change against a strong team like Russia, even though we did manage to get more rebounds against their strong inside. But with FG 33 % (Russia 55%) and 17 TO our offence was dissapointing.

Next match will be against Latvia. They won there first match against Iceland (92-113). In Poule C Portugal leads, Germany 2nd and Austria is currently 6th (after 1 match)...

Latvija (29) - Austria (62) 76 - 88

Starting Line-up
PG Rümmele
SG Dimovic
SF Dober
PF Kara
C Zangerle
Motion / 1v1

If we had a chance of winning against a higher ranked team, it would be Latvija. And with a little bit more effort, we did it! Slight change in starting5; Kara and Zangerle changed position, hoping this would result in a bit more offensive power. Both grabbed 18 rbnds, and with 16 points Kara had a massive part in this win, so the change turned out good. But unstoppable was Rümmele on PG (30 pts.) Too bad in 1st Q Dober had to come of injured.

The other games in Pool C show no surprises. Germany, Portugal had easy wins, Russia had a difficult game against Switzerland, but managed to win in. We go up 1 place and are currently 5th.

Next up: Portugal. Strong inside, hope we can stop them.

Because of the win against Latvija we gained 6 places on the WL, but that wouldn't help against an expected much stronger Portugal. But we only lost by 10 pts and we had a much stronger outside offense. The duo Kara/Zangerle is beginning to become a strong defensive couple inside. With a little bit of luck (and maybe some more effort) we could have won this.

Germany (3) - Austria (60) 50 - 0

Ai, totaly forgotten to set a line-up (and standard line-up), I'm sorry !!
Luckely this happened agains Germany, a game with an expected big loss…

Next week Iceland, a must-win game for us. Setting the line-up (and standard line-up) imidiatly

Summary of the final three games....

Iceland (74) - Austria (59) 97 - 80
This was a must-win game.... But we failed… Iceland had strong defensive ratings, and our offense wasn't good enough.

A game to forget..

Austria (62) - Wales (95) 117 - 56
Small change in the line-up made a lot of difference. Kempf on SF was hot with 28 pts. Strong outside offense against a weak defense of Wales made us double there score....

Austria (60) - Switzerland (50) 87 - 61
With a small chance to reach the 4th place, we had to win against Switzerland, and Latvia had to lose with big numbers of Portugal. We did our job. Both teams went all-in, but we have the Parrot-twins. Strong game of the duo Dober/Kempf (21 and 14 pts.) and in rebounding we also did a great job. And with Latvia loosing 119 - 67 to Portugal, we passed them on the ranking to finish 4th.

Recap
Finishing 4th before Latvia is a great result in this group. But overall there are some dissapointments. First of all i never should forget to make a line-up in the Germany-game. Secondly the game against Iceland we should have won. I might have chosen the wrong tactics, but that can happen. However, both wouldn't change the result of finishing 4th as 'best of the rest'

Now a few friendly's before we start with probably my last season....

Thanx all for traing and see you in S47
