NBBA Season 70 – Day 8 Recap (Tuesday, November 11, 2025)
by Buzz Beat Daily
TarTeam, Silverbacks, and Cavaliers Win on the Road; Dowell Returns, Cup-Driven Rotations Shape the Night
Day 8 broke from the usual home-court advantage as TarTeam, the Silverbacks, and the Virginia Cavaliers each secured impressive road wins. Several teams managed their rotations with the National Cup in mind — most notably the Kings Knights, who fully rested their starters, while both Jumpstop Jumpers and Mill City Thunder protected key players for their upcoming Cup matchups. The headline of the night: Bruce Dowell finally returned for ExplosiveBubbleWrap, though TarTeam spoiled his comeback.
TarTeam Flatten ExplosiveBubbleWrap, Spoil Dowell’s Return
Even with Bruce Dowell finally back on the court, ExplosiveBubbleWrap couldn’t handle TarTeam’s relentless pace in a 123–83 blowout. TarZip’s squad dictated the tempo from the opening tip, forcing turnovers and converting them into easy points. Dowell’s return is huge for EBW long-term, but on Day 8, TarTeam’s cohesion and pressure completely overwhelmed them.
Silverbacks Grind Out a Tough Road Win Over the LA Lions
The Silverbacks walked into Los Angeles and secured a gritty 78–65 victory. Their half-court defense shined once again, slowing the Lions and controlling the rhythm. It’s the type of road win that signals the Silverbacks are settling into their identity as one of the league’s most balanced, defensively disciplined teams.
Virginia Cavaliers Torch the Resting Knights
The Kings Knights, focused on their looming Cup clash with the Visionaries, rested their entire main rotation — and the Cavaliers unleashed a 141–61 demolition. W. Saucedo delivered the performance of the night: 42 points, 18 rebounds, and an efficiency of 53. Virginia’s energy, pace, and depth are setting a terrifying standard for the rest of the league.
10inch Vertical Blow Out Jumpstop Jumpers’ Rest Squad
Jumpstop Jumpers rolled out a Cup-resting lineup, and 10inch Vertical took full advantage with a 106–38 dismantling. Vertical’s defense was ferocious, producing 13 steals and 7 blocks. Bascur and Shipley disrupted everything inside and out, turning rest-night vulnerabilities into a comfortable win.
Splash Gang Take Care of Business Against the Lords
Splash Gang grabbed an 88–76 victory over the Los Angeles Lords, leaning on balanced scoring and strong guard play. After resting their stars earlier in the week, SG looked refreshed and in control throughout, with Anderson delivering the best rating of the night.
ETBU Crush Mill City’s Cup-Rested Rotation
Mill City Thunder, also preserving starters for the Cup, were no match for a roaring ETBU Tigers squad. ETBU dominated 117–57 behind Kangshan’s 25 rebounds and Celanova’s 10-assist masterclass. With crisp passing and relentless rebounding, ETBU delivered one of their most complete performances of the season.
Stark Contrast Cruise to a Home Win, Improving to 5–3
Stark Contrast continued their upward climb with a clean 96–61 home victory over the Delaware 87ers. Valentin steered the offense smoothly, while the defense suffocated Delaware’s young core. At 5–3, Stark is building serious momentum and reshaping their early-season narrative.
Wobbles Roll Past Visionaries With Confident Shooting
Wobbles handled the Visionaries 96–77, powered by sharp outside shooting and ever-improving chemistry. Samara’s five threes led the way as this young team continues to grow in discipline and confidence — an encouraging sign for a squad just trying to stay in the NBBA.
