With a new season starting, we saw our most talented players age out and be replaced by younger players who need more time to develop. This season as we enter the World Tournament again, we will focus on player development, gaining experience and testing out new tactics as our team will most likely be substantially outmatched. When the schedule comes out for our match-ups in a couple of weeks, we'll be better able to determine how we want to approach specific games.

Let's keep training and building for the future!

Quiet start to the season as we played 3 scrimmage games in the past few weeks while we wait for the final teams of the Worlds Tournament to be determined in the Repechage.

Scrimmage 1 (62125) - Won against Pakistan in a 153-133 shoot-out. A number of outstanding performances in this one led by Stephen Buffery dropping 38 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 0 turnovers and Sekgoma Ramasodi scoring 31 points, 15 assists and 1 turnover.

Scrimmage 2 (62249) - Won against Senegal in a 124-122 thriller. Katiza Matsangura hit a buzzer-beater to win the game! He ended with a team-high 27 points and Mtima Nxumalo grabbed a team-high 17 boards to go with 24 points.

Scrimmage 3 (62253) - We lost to Senegal 107-99. Stephen Buffery (32 points), Stuart Murray (27 points and 10 assists) and Mtima Nxumalo (16 points and 16 rebounds) tried to lead the team to victory in this one but the rough gameshape caused the team to come up just short.

The Worlds Tournament schedule should be coming out shortly so stay tuned!

The schedule's out and we face,

- Poland (7th ranked team in the world)
- Spain (4th)
- Italy (1st)
- Argentina (13th)
- Philippines (8th)

We currently sit as the 41st team in the world and on our roster there is only one player, who is currently injured and has been in bad gameshape, we have that has a higher salary than any of the players on all our opponent's rosters. As we anticipated and knew going into the Worlds tournament, we are severely overmatched. This season is all about preparing for the future and gaining experience to have a team that is ready for both the African Tournament next season and the Worlds Tournament in a couple of seasons.

Unfortunately, this season has concluded and went as anticipated against far superior competition. We'll use the remainder of the season to give future talent opportunities to prove themselves and prepare for upcoming tournaments.

I'm planning to run for another term here and have plans for us to return to the World stage so we can make an impact next time around!
