Hey guys, the reason for this post is to talk about the NBBA and the NT. Basically, I want to make a plea to you guys, and I hope you will hear me out. Don't take the song seriously, btw.

I look around at other NT rosters and I see a common theme, the best teams have the majority of their players owned by managers of the same country. Look at Chile, majority of their team is owned by Chileans, and they always have great GS. Their manager, Blockman, always posts updates on players, and if they are moving. Recently, one of their best guards Navarette, who is about = to Medrano, was on the transfer list. Blockman found a Div I Chile manager who bid 3.9M on the guy, just to try to keep him in Chile. He lost, but the effort is consistently there. 9 of Chile's 11 NT players are owned by Chileans, mostly Div I.

By comparison, we have one US NT player in the NBBA, Dexter Dennison.

I know its hard enough even surviving in the NBBA, and we all have to put our teams needs first, myself included. Its hard for me to ask any of you to sacrifice your goals to help the NT. I also know that the majority of us are broke, and can't afford the high salaries of these players.

What I do want to ask you guys is to please stay in contact with me. If at any time, now or in the future, you have $ and are looking to buy a high salary guard or big? Let me know. Are you open to negotiating with one of the managers of our players? Let me know. Looking to buy a big time 18 yr old prospect next season? Let me know. Want to buy someone who with a little training and improved GS could be on the NT? Let me know.

I will use this thread to keep you all updated on NT player/prospect movement, if anyone is available for negotiation or is on sale.

Right now Medrano is on sale for 4M and the owner won't budge on that number (Update: He sold for 4M). Madrid has been on sale frequently for 3.5M, and I am negotiating getting the sale price down. Wood's manager is open to selling, I am trying to negotiate that as well. Joe Bronson may go bot sometime several weeks from now. I imagine the managers of Lundy and Ugona might not be able to afford their salaries next season, if so I would like for them to pass on from Div II to the NBBA. If you are interested in someone else on the roster, let me know.

I am currently trying to buy one of these players myself, I want you guys to know that I will try to lead by example.

Thanks for reading,

jfarb

Honestly, I'm not sure how competitive you can be with $200k/week+ salaried players. Dexter Dennison is probably getting close to the limit in terms of affordable performance.

I have challenged everyone in the NBBA to use American players (161148.1), but most still outsource those jobs overseas. :-( Not the All-American Bruins though!

BTW, Chile is a different situation...they only have 300 teams and the top division is much less competitive.

Italy, Spain, France...all still beating us in that department. Maybe not 90% like Chile, but a good portion of their players are playing at home.

Btw never noticed before that your team is 100% American, I give you a ton of respect for that.

I'm starting to try now, :). I just overpaid (by about 400k) for an 18yo SF, who I reallly hope to 1 position train for the NT, I'd imagine SF is the only really competitive salary position for me. I hear my SG Brown is about 4 pops away from NT too, although issues with potential (I overpaid for him too).

With all this overpaying, do you think that other managers want USA players above all else? (apart from own nationality of course). Maybe NBA influence... :)

I'm planning to keep buying american whenever I can.

I can't speak for those other "other managers," but I do.

I don't know if people spend more on Americans just because, could be the case. Not suprised Levine went for 900k, 18yr olds with high salary and potential always attract bidders. I thank you though for getting him, hes one of our best 18yr olds.

Speaking of which, our biggest 18 yr old guard prospect is available!!! Check out the offsite forum for details.

He's got a lot of potential likes, but that damn Portuguese guy keeps raising the price of the young americans! Unjustifiable for me to buy two! lol

PS. I'm pretty pissed that he comes onto the market 2 days after i finally make the purchase, he's significantly better than Levine....)

I'd be all over that if not for the terrible IS. Otherwise I'd make him a mean SF.
