Now I hope that no-one thinks that this is racist because I have nothing against all the weird and wonderful names in the Aussie draft that do reprexent our rich multi-cultural society. But doesn't it seem odd that there are very few Anglo Saxon names.

This was triggered by a post in the India forums.

Next week, as everyone knows, we have a new season. With this we will also have the Draft.
Today I spent some time reviewing the names and surnames of the brazilian draft.

If is the will of you guys, I can add names and last names suggested by you. Simply put here the INDIANS names and surnames who wish to add to the draft so I will reserve some time this weekend to add them in the Indian data base.

I have to point out that I can not guarantee that no one will get a player with the name or last name that suggested, I can only guarantee that the names will be in the draft.

Wow that is a brilliant offer. I wish someone would do it for Australia. We have all these odd Vietnamese, Arabic and Indian names in Australia but very few of the very standard names are ever seen.

John, Michael, Fred, Joe, Bruce, Wayne, Tom, Richard, etc. I am sure they are out there but I can't recall ever seing one.

I have seen lots of funny names but it just feels like the balance is wrong. Maybe I am wrong. What does everyone think?

I completly agree. Not enough of the usual names we are a customed to are represented fairly. Speaking from my experience at school and sport alot people with different backgrounds have Anglo-Saxon names. Truth is we are not in the middle east nor are we in Asia. I like the variety we have but need to even it up a bit more like you said.

I agree, i love the names that come up, but some anglo names here and there would be sweet as!

maybe we should compile a list of our own names and put them forward as typical anglo .... maybe half the U21 team will be us one day ;)

GM-Bonomi has said he will add some names for us to the list that players are drafted from. Doesn't mean that you will see one but there is a chance. Seriously here are a few I will submit based on some people's names that I know from Buzzerbeater that seem realistic enough.

I hope no-one objecte to any of these because they will go into the actual database. I obviously am just one player with no special right to create this list so if anyone objects to any names please let me know but surely they are no worse than some of the current crop like Squid and Fatty Dick.

With that list of names, I'd be on edge waiting for teh first player to be called Dick Fanny.
