Week 33 training update

Here is the training update of the NT players for week 33, plenty of pops and good game shape.

1 pop -> Inside Shot
2 pops -> Jump Shot
1 pop -> Passing

A couple of drops among the older players, but this was expected. We will continue to keep pushing the coaches of our NT players to give them full training and watch their form, this will be a crucial part of the long term success of the team.

Week 34 training update

This is the training update of the NT players for week 34, not a good one but there's always next week.

No pops at all, hopefully I will be able to report some pops next week.

A couple of stamina drops among the older players, but the game shape is looking fine even it could have been better i'm not unhappy about it with the important game against Egypt around the corner. Please continue to train our NT players to the maximum and keep an eye on their gameshape.

Week 35 training update

Training update of the NT players for week 35, better compared to last week and game shape is looking good for our upcoming game against Tunesia.

1 pop -> Free Throw
1 pop -> Inside Defense
1 pop -> Inside Shot

And just one stamina drop among all players, no other skill drop in the team. Important pops for inside players, and with the great game shape we should increase our chances for the AfroBasket match against Tunesia on Monday.

Week 36 training update

Another good week for our NT players, a couple of pops and nice game shape for most of the team.

1 pop -> Jump Shot
2 pops -> Stamina
1 pop -> Driving

And again no skill drops on the entire team, I hope for some pops on a couple of players next week so the team will become even stronger at it is now. I will try to encourage coaches from teams with a NT players who are not looking at the game shape at the moment, to do this in the future as we still have some important matches to play.

Solid training results once again, couple of pops and even more and better game shape compared to last week.

1 pop -> Jump Shot
2 pops -> Passing
1 pop -> Driving

No skill drops on the team for a second week straight, nice to see our key players are getting trained and receive good minutes every week. Will update again next week!

Week 40 training update

Not as many pops as I was hoping for, but the game shape makes up for that right now with our most crucial game of the season on Monday.

1 pop -> Passing
1 pop -> Jump Shot
1 pop -> Shooting Distance

Hopefully in the weeks between seasons some players could receive some more training, I will try to contact those managers and see what is possible.

Congrats on your election!

Before the season begins, will you change the roster?
You should not keep over 33 yo players because of skills drops.
You should select only 12-14 players to start.
Then you can add others later if injuries occur or game shapes are bad.
Don't forget that removing players during the competition results in a loss of enthusiasm.

Hi Ebene5 & readers of the forum,

I do have a plan for this season and next season, it will be somewhat the same as it was in the previous two seasons I was the NT coach. Ofcourse things change every time, and I will need to adapt to it. For the upcoming AfroBasket Championship I will create a new topic just like i did in the previous season, there I will try to update everyone on any news and plans regarding the team. Looking at the previous two seaons I can say that progress has been made, and most likely will be made again for the two seasons to come. I see no reason to make big changes or to do things differently at the moment, when the time comes that I need to do things differently, I will not hesitate to do so.

I would like to thank the 4 managers who decided to vote for me in the elections, to my surprise it was double the amount of votes I received last time. Another positive was that 7 managers voted, with just 11 mangers in South Africa it atleast shows that the effort was taken to vote and show that the majority supports me as the NT coach for a 2nd straight time!

To answer your question regarding the roster for this season I would like to say the following, the roster is looking good right now with backups at every position. Our two big man are still on the team for the moment, they still are important at their positions and I will use them during the AfroBasket Championship probably for the last time (their age is high now and skill drops happen). Meanwhile other players are being trained to take over but are not at the same level yet, with some time the difference will become smaller and I'm urging the managers of those players to make an effort to give them maximum training. As it looks right now this is happening and I have received positive replies from nearly each of them. There are another 1 or 2 players that are older but they are the best option at the moment either starting or as a backup, that's why I'm not removing them from the roster just yet. Ofcourse I understand that the team needs some new blood, this has not escaped my attention and new players will be seen to make their debutes next season.

Once again I will do my best to get the results we all would like to see, I might not be able to meet everyones expectations but as long i get to meet what the majority is expecting i'm satisfied. Also the managers who are not positive about my job as the NT coach I would invite you to either bring this to my attentnion either by BB-mail or on the forum. I can only do something if I'm aware of it, so please let's all work together and make the best of it.

Greetings & Let's go South Africa!
