I'm pretty happy. Having invested a bit more this season (on the advice of the pre-season poll), I really need to make the playoffs & I'm not out of touch yet.

I have a fairly binary fixture list against the blue side (home games I'd be favoured in & away games I can punt without too much thought) & then 4 home games in the return run against the championship holding red side.

My defense is looking promising as well.

Can’t complain so far. Onto the blue side now and trying to balance that with the cup, expecting the losses to be like London buses!!

Expected to be kind of where I am at the moment. Had couple of close games so could be better but did have few injuries also. Had to panic buy at the start as my internet connection let me down and lost out on the player I wanted and ended up overpaying for Grimes, but hopefully he will be enough to keep me up.

It's been OK. Feel a bit stuck in limbo with not being able to move on to the kind of roster I'd prefer. I kind of feel I could slroll to 18-4 and still have little chance of actually winning the title or the cup with this roster.
I did enjoy beating my rival with a patented 4th quarter walk down while using less effort and resting my best player though. And winning the last two games against playoff teams while averaging less than 19 points a quarter is definitely a first.
I'll give the first eight games a solid 'B' grade.

A remarkably EBBL-friendly draw for the tournament QFs.
Obviously Wasps and Erks got the short straw.

Apparently there's something of a big game tonight somewhere. (I suspect Highbury). Its my first Cup Final since 36, and zander's first since 31. Surprisingly A Dogs have never won the Cup, losing in Finals to Vecx and elmacca. The Wasps have also lost a final before, to Los Mikitos, when I attempted to win using a full court press, which of course everyone knows never works.

I get the feeling zander really wants the Cup this season. He's given up home advantage in the playoffs in order to get here which says to me he'd rather win the Cup than the league. Understandable really having won the league last season, though personally I'd have gone the other way as I did in 37, when I gave up in the Cup.

Do I want it also? Of course. I've given up training over the last three weeks in order to give myself as good a chance as I could. I've also discovered that you can these days keep players at 10 stamina, which you never could before. I think my chances are very slim though. Obviously I'm a huge underdog. I expect either a narrow win or a massive defeat. But I'm going to do what I can. There's always hope.

Good luck to zander. Surprisingly tonight is our first meeting in the Cup. Hope its a good one. Though I'm reminded of Bill Beaumont when he was England captain in the 70s, before a game against Wales. A posh bloke saw Beaumont on the way in to Twickenham and said to him "I hope the best team wins." And Beaumont replied "I bloody don't."
