You can look at coach parrot and the coefficients that were estimated as a result of a data gathering exercise on the US offsite to see the difference between the various trainer levels.
Whether it's worth it depends on what you mean by it and what kind of players you're training:
- From a skillpoint perspective if you train HoF or ATG and some MVP potential for the NT then yes, it's probably worth it. For lower potential it's not (you will cap these players in any case, even if it takes you longer)
- From a cost perspective it's probably never worth using a higher level trainer than Advanced.
