New Zealand (75) vs Taiwan (132) (53471)

A 57 point loss against powerhouses Taiwan.

Game Analysis:
They ended the game well, whereas we didn't. The stats don't lie - they scored 49% of their field goals, to our 30%. They more than doubled our rebounding stat and passed efficiently with 26 assists and only 7 turnovers, compared to our 9 assists and 5 turnovers. This game really shows how important game shape is to every player and it is important that every player plays at least 48 minutes for your team.

Key Players:
1. Jimmy Jackson: 33 points, 2 steals and 2 assists from the SG position.
2. Clint Ward: 21 points and 9 rebounds from the PF position.
3. Mirko Elliot: 10 points and did somewhat defensively well from the SF position.

Next Game:
Against Lubnan where we should expect a win.

New Zealand (117) vs Lubnan (107) (53475)

Not as comfortable as I would have though but a 10 point win none the less to end 2019 and the decade.

Game Analysis:
They outrebounded us and had more chances to score. Though our team had a better shooting accuracy which ultimately won us the game. We passed the ball well, picking up 30 assists (Jimmy Jackson with half of them) and only turning over the ball 7 times. Ultimately, though it is a win, our team needs to be performing better in order to compete with other nations in our continent.

Key Players:
1. Jimmy Jackson: 16 points and 15 assists from the SG position.
2. Harvey Piper: 24 points and 12 rebounds from the C position.
3. Josh Cockayne: 24 points and 4 assists from the PG position.

Next Game:
Against TBD as it will be a scrimmage for us.

New Zealand (50) vs Saudi Arabia (0) (53481)

A forfeit from Saudi Arabia gives us a default win.

Game Analysis:
N/A due to forfeit.

Key Players:
N/A due to forfeit.

Next Game:
Against TBD. After Iran's win against India, it confirms our spot in the next round of the Asia U21 Championship Tournament.
After last nights result from all teams, it looks like the nations we will be in a group with are: Philippines, Hanguk, Taiwan, Malaysia and Indonesia.
Obviously going into the next stage will be a good chance for us to compete with "statistically" harder nations in our continent as we look to grow our team for the seasons to come.

New Zealand (81 vs Malaysia (122) (54065)

A huge 41 point loss against Malaysia to start off our journey in the second round of the Asia U21 Championship Tournament.

Game Analysis:
A huge factor that factored into the big point differential was the GDP guesses that I got wrong. I made it based on the trends of the offenses they had played so far in this tournament, as well as in the past. It was my fault and I will own up to it. We ended the game well, scoring 30 points and only conceding 32 in the 4th quarter. Both Clint Ward and Harvey Piper led in the scoring for our team and did their job fantasically throughout the night. Malaysia were just a better team and deserved the win.

Key Players:
1. Clint Ward: 23 points and 7 rebounds from the PF position.
2. Harvey Piper: 16 points and 11 rebounds from the C position.
3. Neerim Larbi: 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists from the SF position.

Next Game:
Against Indonesia. A team that have been continental semi finalists in three occasions in the past.

New Zealand (79) vs Indonesia (95) (54069)

A 16 point loss against Indonesia in our second match in the second round of the Asia U21 Championship Tournament.

Game Analysis:
A lack of good game shape this week resulted in a lackluster performance for us. At the end of the day Indonesia were the better team and deserved the win. They were better than us in all departments which showed with the scoreline but we hold our heads up high and focus on the next game.

Key Players:
1. Clint Ward: 29 points and 11 assists from the PF position.
2. Josh Cockayne: 20 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds from the PG position.
3. Jimmy Jackson: 16 points and 4 steals from the SG position.

Next Game:
Against Philippines who have been champions of Asia before (season 44). So it should be a challenge for us!

Season 48 Recap

Hey guys,

The loss to Taiwan on Monday night meant that we finished the Asian U21 Championship Tournament at the bottom of the table in the second round.

This is a big accomplishment for our nation as it has been awhile since we got to the second round. I would like to congratulate each and every manager that has contributed to the U21 team this season, as it was a great success for us.

Our individual player awards go to:
MVP of the season: Jimmy Jackson.
Most points scored: Jimmy Jackson (309 points).
Most rebounds: Clint Ward (106 rebounds).

Season 49 should be an exciting season with a crop of new players entering our team. The first initial U20 team will be selected for Monday's scrimmage, which is yet to be confirmed who it will be against.
