Game 4 - vs: Singapore: WIN: 96 - 83 (55935)

Get in! We threw everything into our matchup with a strong Singapore team who were undefeated this season and were rewarded with a great 13 point win. Unfortunately we were unable to extend our points differential as Singapore threw some amazing 3-pointers late in the fourth quarter but a great win nonetheless!

MVPs:
1. John Maurice - 3 votes
2. Dhasaradakumaran Pushparaj - 2 votes
3. Dwayne O'Meley - 1 vote

Next Game:
vs TBC. Will hopefully get a scrimmage in to try some stuff!

Really nice win bud. Great job. Hopefully with a few of us training hard, we will be strong for the next few seasons.

I know Hoddy is training guards and I'm training bigs, so we should have a really good side in a couple of seasons.

Scrimmage: vs Bahamas - WON: 120 - 92

We continued with our good form with a 28 point win against the Bahamas. Despite our opponents being a fairly lower ranked team, they gave their everything which was seen through their amazing outside shooting. This was the first week where ALL our players had a GS of 8-9 and I hope that that continues into the next few weeks which is detrimental for our success this season.

MVPs:
1. Bogdan Nita - 3 votes.
2. Xi Yonghao - 2 votes.
3. Dwayne O'Meley - 1 vote.

Next Game:
vs Macau. Tune in!

Game 5 - vs: Macau: LOSS: 93 - 98 (55943)

We fall to a tricky Macau team after a run of wins. We still progress to the second stage of the tournament though despite this loss but it may mean that we progress as possibly the fourth seed from our group (depending on who wins in the Singapore vs Malaysia game).

MVPs:
1. Dean Huhtaniemi - 3 votes.
2. Brendon Saxby - 2 votes.
3. John Maurice - 1 vote.

Next Game:
vs Vietnam. Tune in!

Game 6 - vs: Vietnam: LOSS: 81 - 93 (55946)

We lose to Vietnam in the last game of the first round of the tournament this season, but after South Korea's loss to Hong Kong, we progress to the second round of the tournament as the fourth seed in our group.

This was a planned loss as it looked like going into the second round as fourth seeds were better than going into the second round as the third seed in our group. This is because it will look like we will be going into a group whereby it is possible to win some games. I hope to improve upon our last result in this tournament, where we were not able to win one game in the second round.

MVPs:
1. Dhasaradakumaran Pushparaj - 3 votes.
2. John Maurice - 2 votes.
3. Dwayne O'Meley 1 vote.

Next Game:
TBC. However, we know our group for the second round. They include:
- Hong Kong (from Group A)
- New Zealand (from Group A)
- Thailand (from Group B)
- Australia (from Group B)
- China (from Group C)
- Indonesia (from Group C)

I will update you all once the official schedule is released.

Asia Tournament - Round 2 - Schedule Release

The official schedule for round 2 of the Asia Tournament (Season 50) was recently released.

We will go up against (in chronological order)
- Indonesia
- Australia
- Thailand
- China
- Hong Kong

I will try my best to get some result out of these games, but the chances look slim at the moment. Tune in to our game against Indonesia on Monday!

In other news, two of our players in the current squad has hit major milestones, despite only going thorough half the season thus far. They include:
- John Maurice making his 33rd appearance for the NZ U21 team in the last game. This makes him equal 9th in all time NZ U21 appearances.
- Dwayne O'Meley making 108 assists in his two and half seasons with the team so far. This makes him 8th in all time NZ U21 assists leaders.

Game 7 - vs: Indonesia: WIN: 114 - 112 (56537)

We come out with a narrow win against Indonesia. They started out well with a 6 point lead going into the second quarter, however we pushed through in quarter 2 and 3 to come out with a 2 point win. This marks our first win in the second round of the Asia Tournament since season 42, which is quite remarkable in my eyes. Onwards from here on out!

MVPs:
1. John Maurice - 3 votes.
2. Dhasaradakumaran Pushparaj - 2 votes.
3. George Jabano - 1 vote.

Next Game:
vs our brothers and sisters across the ditch - Australia. Tune in next Monday!

Game 8 - vs: Australia: LOSS: 64 - 98 (56539)

We fall to Australia by 34 points and if there was one word to describe the game, it'd be annihilation. But it was expected and despite getting a GDP guess correct, two injuries to two of our major players, along with poor game shape and the heavy loss capped the worse week in NZ U21's history in BuzzerBeater!

However, we must look to next week's game - where I hope we could get better game shape numbers and our players returning from injury.

MVPs:
1. Brendon Saxby - 3 votes.
2. George Jabano - 2 votes.
3. Myron Gupta - 1 vote.

Next Game:
vs Thailand. Tune in!
