Game 2 is in the books, here’s how they went.
EBBL
Optic Fibres vs Durham Wasps
Game 1 was a tight game which saw Optic Fibres taking a 1 point win, game 2 was quite the opposite as Optic Fibres completed the 2-game sweep with a 115-79 victory. Durham always looked the underdogs for game 2 after guard Richard Meadows got injured in game 1. Optic Fibres have won their first ever EBBL trophy. Congratulations to js8!
Div II.1
Bromley-By-Bow vs Falcons Heywood
Falcons Heywood were able to use home court advantage to force a game 3 by beating Bromley-By-Bow 109-101. Bromley-By-Bow were led by a fantastic 52 point from Jurgelionis but it wasn’t enough as Falcons Heywood had double digit contributions from every player who registered a minute of play. Bromley-By-Bow will hope home court advantage in game 3 tomorrow night can send them to the EBBL while Falcons Heywood will look to us the momentum of tonight’s victory will see them gain promotion.
Div II.2
Pillow BC vs Porzigod
Porzigod were able to overturn a game 1 blow out to win game 2 106-86. Porzigod’s defence proved strong as they held Pillow BC to only 34% shooting for the game, including a 2-23 shooting night from PF Ostojic. With a blowout win each so far in this series, game 3 is very unpredictable. Pillow BC hold home court advantage in a crucial game 3 as both team looks to find their way to the promised land.
Div II.3
JA Miami vs Nutwood Nets
In the only division 2 finals to be decided in 2 games, JA Miami competed their unbeaten season with a 111-96 win in game 2. JA Miami sweep the season but this game was far from easy as they were down 70-67 going in the the final quarter. However, just as they dominated the season, they dominated the final quarter winning 44-26 to win the game and win promotion to the EBBL for only the second time in franchise history. Congratulations to JA_Crusador!
Div II.4
Cambois Donkeys vs MILF Hunters
MILF Humters won every quarter of game 2 to cruise to a 103-85 victory following great performances from their bigs Ozkok and Watkins who both posted 20 point double-doubles. League MVP and former national player Dupre had 26 points on 11-17 shooting for Cambois Donkeys but it wasn’t enough. Cambois Donkeys may feel the officiating was affected by the home crowd as the MILF Hunters shot 27 more free throws than the Donkeys. Game 3 could go either way as both teams battle for promotion.
