Alright so Pre-Season Power Rankings. I'll rank each team, do 1 strength and 1 weakness. And likely record!
1. Mountain Eagles Record: 17-5
Strongest iteration of the Eagles at this point. They lost Xuda but it won't matter much he was a bad shooter. Expect their shooting to get better this season. Quality depth 1-7. Only question is their age--Worthington getting ugly drops may keep the Eagles from 3-peating.
2. Allied Precise Gunmen Record: 15-7
Newest addition to the crop; APG came out ready to go! He looks to be a very strong outside team. Question will be if his interior is ready to match up with teams like the Eagles' or the Splash Gang to name a couple.
3. Bananahorns Record: 17-5
He's back again! Let's see how their team handles the pressure this season of reaching a 3rd finals in a row. Saldana is getting really old so something to watch out for is their interior. Their team is as strong as Moeller is come end of season. This might be it for him...
4. Splash Gang Record: 16-6
Plasma has been out there making movesssss. He has a very balanced team with a formiddable inside attack led by Conejos. The only question this team may have is rebounding, he has historically had trouble grabbing the ball, and perhaps his team may run out of gas if Baillel (36)gets nasty drops.
5. Sofuegg Record: 14-8
Seems like Sofuegg is adding his name into the ring of teams trying to push for a championship. He has players entering their prime so it looks like their training is starting to pay off. His outside leaves more to be desired...
6. 10inch Vertical Record: 14-8
Modernization of that old ass Brooklyn Nets team with Pierce Garnett and Terry. 34 is the new 24 for him! Very strong team at the moment...however with all these guys at decline age he may have trouble towards the end of the season keeping up. He's putting a lot of faith in his career extension trainer!
7. Skinny Dudes Record: 13-9
Has a very "okay" team. It has depth. But its missing starpower. Starpower that can propel them to a playoff contender. If he can switch out one of his guys for a 200k stud he's in business. Right now I have him taking the 1st relegation spot in the Big 8, unless 10inch falls off a cliff.
8. Wasted Potential Record: 13-9
He'll be doing a lot of training on Vogel this season, so that'll take off a few wins for him perhaps. Also the reigning DPOY Furen is like a dinosaur, he is due to meet the Grim Reaper soon at his age. Other than that he has a solid foundation to stay up a little longer, just will be now if he tries to unseat the Eagles or APG
9. Forza Jazz Record: 12-10
After falling short last season, Justin is looking to recover some of his losses in the bank. Gallagher and Aboki headline the team while the rest is.....suspect at best. That dynamic perimeter duo will have to do a lot in order to secure a playoff spot.
10. Eugene Register Guard 2.0 Record: 11-11
I don't think he ends up at this spot, he's been here for awhile and his team make up is solid. But at the moment he has a lot of Beta players, not a true alpha dog in the roster. If he can fix that then he'll be securing a playoff spot.
Top 10! One observation I seen is that Big 8 is spending much more than the Great 8 right now, in acquisitions or even in roster. Looks like the newcomers have some ground to make up. Could be anyone's game in the Big 8, while it looks like a 2 (or 3?) horse race in the Great 8.
