Last season, before the playoffs, we started to worry about how the season would financially end and what we needed to do.
We made more calculations, read the rules again, and decided to still keep the players and to try to win the playoffs, this way not to ruin the season. Even though we started to pay those 5% interest on debt and the overextension tax.
Before the final against Brigada Diverse, we were already second time in a row under -500k $! After the first final game, we decided to sell 3 players because we don't need them anymore. Each income was a blessing for us.
But it still wasnt enough. We needed to win the final, not for that trophy or for playing in the RBBA League, but to survive as club!!! The promotion bonus was what we needed badly!
Sunday, in the third match, after winning the game and the promotion as champions of League II.3, we still couldn't celebrate properly. We decided not to continue with Koo Yu Tin, as he was 38 years old already, and this way we reduced the salary amount and eliminated the possibility of paying the overextension tax.
From that moment, we recalculated the chance to survive the next day, Monday. The promotion money was not planned to be received then! So we hoped that the merchandising money would not be less than usual. If yes, then we had the risk to remain under -500k $ for the third week in a row, which meant that all our players should be put on the transfer list automatically!
Fortunately, this did not happen, and we survived! We could keep the players, and we waited those beautiful promotion money worth of 1,5 million $!!!
We received them on Tuesday, and it was like a new breath of air for us ! We could start to prepare for the new season in the Romanian Elite. This way, we bought a new player, a Lithuanian one. His name is Gerasimas Baskys, but his nickname is Geru, which means frost.
But because of that financial situation, we cannot set a higher target. So our goal this season will be to survive again. But this time will be only regarding the RBBA League.
Tomorrow is the first match, and it is against the team that didn't let us be promoted in the RBBA League one season earlier. Yes, it is about B Vikings Reborn. And we hope we will manage to win against them. For this, we need the help of our fans to be there in large numbers.
