End of an era

Tokyo, Japan -- The Dahlia Mavericks have moved on from Rob Craverio, Mark Po Sum, and Stan Roncevic as they look to rebuild after years of being a perennial playoff contender.

"We want to thank Rob, Mark, and Stan for all the contributions they made to the team," GM Nicolo Maro said. "the transfer gave them the opportunity to help new, playoff pursuing teams with their experience."

The Mavs were hopeful to start the season with the all-world backcourt of Po Sum and Roncevic but it didn't translate to the court. The team missed multiple scrimmages and even defaulted a league game due to scheduling conflict.

"We just didn't have it this year, we thought we were solid with all our young cores but the timeline of the team didn't mesh well."

First to go was Rob, the first franchise player. He spent 18 seasons with the team averaging 11.7PPG, 11.2RPG and 1.5BPG in 360 games. "We discussed it internally whether he'll retire with our franchise until he couldn't play anymore but he wanted to compete and still have it to play for playoff aspiring teams.

"Rob was really amazing. We didn't find any center because he is rock solid as a starter for all those years. He is our all-time rebounder with 29 and 7 blocks in a single game. He was also a 9-time allstar and that speaks how well his career went with our team."

Season 56 was great for the franchise as they drafted their backcourt of the future in Mark and Stan. Po Sum was the 9th overall pick that year and Roncevic was the 25th overall pick. "This draft was the reason why we were competitive for years."

Po Sum's improvement was drastic that he literally took the franchise player crown from Rob and Stan as he was a 2-time MVP and 7-time all star in 11 season with the team. He averaged 17.6PPG, 5.4APG, 3.6RPG, 1.1SPG, in 28.1MPG in 229 games with only 0.7TO per game.

Stan was his right hand man making the allstar 6-times averaging 16.5PPG, 4.1RPG, 3.8APG, 1.1SPG in, surprisingly same 28.1MPG, in 221 games with 0.7TO per game as well. He is also the team's all-time points scored in a single game with 53 points.

Mark and Stan will surely contribute to their next teams as they are still in their prime while Rob would serve as a mentor in his next career stop.

As for the Mavs, they have exciting new players in Frank Virt, Helge Hogli, and ready-to-breakout players in Arkadius Wasielewski and Mark Ainsworth that is surely something to look forward to in the coming years.
