Rebels win 2nd D IV Title

The Hendersonville Rebels exploited Milwaukee's thin back court and came out in a full court press, something they very rarely have done as a club, and it worked well enough for them to crush the Flash by 21, winning 151-130. The Rebels were led by the lights out shooting of SF Tom Jarvis who scored 38. Jarvis came out hot hitting his first 5 3-point shots and finishing the night 6 for 8 from the arch. Sixth man Harley Norris scored 37, and he too started the night shooting lights out, coming in the game in the first quarter and hitting his first 3 triples and finishing the night 7-11 from the arch.
The Proffit however was the heart and soul of the team commanding the floor all night and leading the Hendersonville squad to their 2nd championship. The Proffit was had 11 rebounds and was the defensive stopper that led the Rebels all night long. Other Rebels who played well include Des Bunn who had the tough task of defending league MVP Tomohiro Hayashi and for the 2nd straight game in the series checked the scorer, holding him to 26 points. Also notable was the exceptional off the bench play of Jin Deyuan, he came off the bench for PG Wiley Crook, and SF Tom Jarvis and led the Rebels with 11 assists and a + 22 for the night. Fo many of the Rebels this is their first championship, and certainly the first with the new core of Crook, Bunn, Jarvis, Skutt and The Profitt. Head coach Dale Brown took a while to enjoy the feeling but then reminded the squad that they are going back the DIII now, and this time, they are in it to win it. The crowd of 13500 Flash fans were disappointed, but they will probably be headed to DIII now as well. The draft is in 2 days, and the Rebels have the last pick.
