The Duncan City Admirals clinched their third Division IV crown with a 106–99 road victory over Roukounes B.C. in Game 2, completing a sweep to secure the Utopia IV.43 championship.
Jamir Gaurana provided a spark off the bench with 22 points, while SG Efren Esteban Teves added 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. C Jun Nalugon anchored the paint with a double‑double of 16 points and 13 boards. For Roukounes, Pauliño Fachico led all scorers with 27 points, and Donny Klein contributed 24 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists.
The Admirals capped their league season with an astonishing 25 straight wins, including four in the playoffs—an impressive turnaround after opening the campaign with a 100–113 loss to the River City Rats. Carrying the league’s 7th‑highest payroll, they ranked 2nd in point differential and led all teams in field‑goal percentage, assists, and steals.
Balanced scoring defined their run: seven players averaged double figures, with SF Aldo Coronel pacing the squad at 19.3 points per game. That depth may explain why no Admiral was selected to the All‑Star team—a snub the roster took personally, fueling a dominant second half of the season. Coronel finished 4th in MVP voting, while jumbo PG Rex Mempin, who finished #3 in assists, and undersized forwards Maximo “Mad Max” Lacuesta and Arvin Montoya also cracked the Top 12.
Looking ahead, the Admirals will prepare for Division III promotion while their home court, Alamo Riverwalk Arena, undergoes renovations to expand seating capacity.
