Rising Sun enters rebuilding phase

Tokyo, Japan -- The Fuji Rising Sun would want to press the reset button early by selling Chris Ryanto, Raul Trillo and Eden Cabrillos.


GM Nicolo Maro released the following statement:

"If you are not focused in this league, the tide will swallow you, we weren't focused the past two seasons and the next thing we know, our players couldn't compete in the Premier League.

We veered away from our All-Filipino lineup by acquiring Indonesian Ryanto to be our main PG. Back then, we thought Macaraeg wasn't ready when we should have given him the keys.

Not that he didn't provide what we needed, arguably the best assist man in the PPL but he wasn't part of our long-term plan to begin with.

We thought we had a formidable lineup and went all-in but the PPL is a different animal where you have to look for opportunities every week in order to compete.

We decided to let go of Cabrillos, originally our twin-tower with Cabrera, since he wasn't drafted by our team. Ditto with Trillo who was acquired by neighbor team Axie.

We are not sure how long this rebuild will be as are rookies are not yet ready -- we are not even sure if they will reach their full potential with our team.

We hope to have a quick turnaround as we have a two timeline approach with Macaraeg, Sayong, and Cabantac with the veteran Cabrera, Esmas, and Encomio.

We are not sure how long this will take but we preach patience for the coming seasons.
