Fuji Rising Sun eliminated in the semi-finals of Season 72

Tokyo, Japan -- The Fuji Rising Sun started this season by selling their players. It is only fitting that they got eliminated by one of them, Axie Infinity's Raul Trillo in the semi-finals of Season 72, league II.3.

`The past two or three seasons, we didnt know that we are in the second apron,` owner Yo Chi said. `simply put we were bleeding that we made a financial decision.`

Known for their war chest and splashy acquisitions, they have to sell Chris Ryanto for $31,000 after acquiring him for $1.27M. `That was a tough pill to swallow,` owner Yo Chi said. `next is the decision to sell Eden Cabrillos for $15,000 after acquiring him for $1.2M as well.`

The Suns are known for their philosophy of keeping their own players and signing home country talents that made the decision of acquiring and selling Indonesian Ryanto all the more difficult. `We thought he was the missing piece for PPL run it cost us a lot,` GM Maro said. `we have to restart this season to move on.`

With life catching up, the Suns only fielded 10 players almost throughout the season. However, the starting five of Macaraeg, Cabantac, Cabrera, Sayong, and Esmas proved to be enough to make it in the playoffs as the 3rd seed and even advance in the semi-finals as they beat Team Neo 132-124 in the quarterfinals.

`We are satisfied this season considering we only have 10 players. What we regret is not support them enough nor acquire young players to develop as the core is in their prime.`

With Season 72 coming to its end, what can we expect with the Suns? Do they retain their prime-time players or do we expect another fire-sale next season?
