My player finally popped today. It was almost exactly 100% increase in training time after potential cap.
Thanks for all the answers.

Good to know. So, instead of, say, 2-3 weeks for a pop, more like 5-6?

Exactly.
This was a slightly older player aswell so he needed 4 weeks of training before he hit the potential cap. Now I spent 8 weeks training before the pop. Will never do something like that again but atleast now I know for sure how the cap affects training time. Before I decided to train him after the cap I searched the forums for info but there is hardly any info on how much longer it takes.

Tell me about it, the problem is you have to train him for 5-6 weeks before you know for sure he is capped. I'm doing the same thing now,

Never again, 7 weeks and still no pop.

i dont' think that it's that bad... i do 2-position guard training with five trainees and one of them, a 21 year old starter might have capped, but i need him to be competitive, so i train him with the other guys and if i hopefully get him to pop every 5 or 6 weeks i'm fine with it... then again, if you do single position training it might not be that advisable...

Indeed. And after you put those 5-6 initial weeks in you dont wanne drop it.
Just stick in there, he will come through. GL

I have a PG that might have been capped as well, but I really would like to get him 3 or4 more skillups in PS (2) and OD (1), maybe in JS (1).
But that will be a hard time with him, he already needed 5-6 weeks of JS training for the last skillup at the age of 23. Now he´s 24 and has a salary of 34k with allstar potential. I have the impression that this is the cap for him, although I get told from different people that he should have something left in his tanks. But he´s so slow in training...

Don't forget if it is Unwin or Hamilton they are also really really old, they are in the same boat as Oliver. I want him to get another pop but if he is old and capped, ouch!

Going from a pop every 3 week or so to nothing in 8 week, Urwin the older 25 has popped more, so i don't think age is the problem.

6 weeks of pressure on a 21 year old without a pop. i decided to wait for that one pop and then sell him... it's about to become really annoying... especially with the all star break coming...
