I would love to help this team to the best of my abilities and my ability to be unpredictable, especially in terms of strategies used.

If this team is on a rebuild, then I don't mind. Why? This will mold me further into a great NT coach my fellow Filipinos desire.

For both candidates, give me a training plan for my draftee to make it to Seniors. How would you build it, what position will be his best chance to make Seniors? How much tsp will he end up with? What level of trainer would he need? How long will training take? These are the questions you will mostly encounter when you mentor a newbie just want to know your thought process. This will be my one and only question.

Jump Shot: 7 Jump Range: 1
Outside Def.: 1 Handling: 1
Driving: 7 Passing: 1
Inside Shot: 1 Inside Def.: 7
Rebounding: 7 Shot Blocking: 7
Stamina 7 Ft 7

Height: 6'6 tsp 40 tsp Age 18 (potential mvp)

I hope the future don't depend on this player
With this skill set and this potential, I think that the decision of the manager should be to train a PG or a SF. My recomendation would be SF (but I would say to the coach that It's not sure that he can enter the NT, for example depending on potential sub-level).

I have simulated a training plan till he has 30 years old, and he could be an inner SF with TSP = 134 more or less and would be somethin like this (but I think that you could make a different player depending on manager's opinion)

14 - 8
17 - 12
18 - 11
18 - 16
11 - 8

As I told in other post depending on the other NT players this plan could change, but I think this is one option but not necessary the best one.

I think I will mold him to a SF/SG role. He'll be like a 3 & D guy in today's NBA that's capable of playing the small-ball 4 spot. Let's say a Robert Covington type of a build.

I would have the newbie buy an advanced-superior trainer that's cheap enough for him to train the 18 y/o with a youth trainer as well. If he has enough money, then a gym would be useful, too!

I think he'll end up with 120-130 tsp if the manager takes care of the player without being spiked by the capacity of training the player has. I'll have the GM train OD first, then his IS to both reach at least 7-10 by season's end if possible. By season's end, it's possible that the player may reach 60-70 TSP, depending on the training the player has.

Age 19: Passing, handling, and JR to reach at least 5-7 until season's end for passing and JR, but for handling should be at least 7-10. Passing and outside shooting training for this season

Age 20: OD, ID, and JS (OD = 12-14), (ID = 9-12), JS (12-14) at season's end. One on one training, ID training and OD training for this season.

Age 21: During these times, the player should have:

JS(12-14) JR(5-7)
OD(12-14) Handling(7-10)
DR(9-12) Passing(5-7)
IS(7-10) ID(9-12)
Reb(7-9) SB(7-8)
Sta (5-7) FT (7)

TSP: 80-103(If this is possible, and 103's really far-fetched), but I think 80-90 is enough for U21

Age 22-23: I will continue the defense training until OD gets 16-18(Better if max, and if not yet capped, the better) and ID 13-15(Better if 16 and above, and if not yet capped, the better), same time the Reb should be at least 10 now

Age 24 and beyond is where the offense goes in and the GM has the freedom in the world to train JS, JR, and IS. Driving and handling should be affected, too. I don't think passing is really a need, handling's more important than passing for me. It is possible for this player to reach 120-130 TSP with proper training and great strategy in building the player.

Thanks for both of your replies, i think both of you need more exp. in training and mentoring. That was a loaded question. I think the best answer was to endorse it to the u21 coach, the player i posted sucks. 1 atrocious skill is a concern, 2 is a big red flag. 3 atrocious skills is almost impossible. This guy has 5 atrocious. No chance to make Seniors except in a micro nation where trainees are very limited. And yes we are building better players.

Why endorse it to u21? He can be trained as a big, a very 1 dimensional big. I would just ask the newbie to look for a better trainee if he really wants to make Seniors. Reason i posted that is not to criticize your opinions but gauge how you can navigate best an undesirable trainee. It tells me your style of training and your understanding of how a player grows. It also tells me that we have more work to do. We are aiming for 140 tsp for guards and sf 125 tsp for Pf/C minimum. I think i have made my decision. Good luck to both of you. If you guys can work together, id like to work with both of you if you are open for collaboration. If not, I will still train anyway along with others in the community. The winner can be the Senior coach, the second placer can be the assistant. At the end of the day, the label of Senior coach is just a title. Never ran for local election but i still help and i offer the same to both of you.

I told you that this player... but I thought that you wanted to know what would we do with a manager that wants to train this player (yes or yes) trying to enter in NT.
But, you're right. I do my scouting from 22 years old.

Thanks for your questions and comments.

I think its a matter of being patient to the player's development. I thought also that it is impossible to build a multi-dimensional guy like those skills. Those 1's are a sore at first, but when developed he'll be a good role player himself.

Thanks for gauging with us! Good luck to you too, Sir Tatamka! :)

In my old account before coach bago ako bumalik. Under Ghazny, I was one of his helpers (NT).

For U21, I helped Coach FabioMenta and Coach NDR. :)

Moving this here. Thanks for the confirmation coach. Was actually after the specifics of each role so I can better understand the experience.

Anyways, that question from boss obi nailed it. That's a tough one, I was lucky enough to have not encountered a manager with that kind of trainee during my term. lol! Goodluck to all. I have made my decision as well. Cheers!
