Sweet Repeat

If anyone had to bet on this season’s champion, only a few would have put their money on Mizu. Not that the squad wasn’t strong or talented enough to repeat. But long-time rival and multiple champions Cowboys looked like the most impressive team as the season started, and the one team to beat. But against all odds, BMA managed to win an improbable second straight title. Some might say, they didn’t have to accomplish anything spectacular: stay perfect at home and hope that Vottem stumbles at any point. And that’s exactly what happened. But still, Coach Q’s players had to make it happen. And now Mizu has won a remarkable 34 consecutive league home games. The last home loss was against… Amenra, back in season 18.

What makes this title even sweeter for BMA is that it was an all-Luxemburgish affair in the finals, with Coach Q finally meeting up his old friend manager 65DaysOfStatic, who had his first shot at the title. Amenra shouldn’t be ashamed to have lost this one. They forced a game 3 thanks to a blow-out victory in game 2, and offered a great resistance in the first two quarters of game 3. They will probably win it all one day or another. I would bet some of my cash on it.

Congratulations as well to Frank Debrin, who is the 5th Luxemburgish manager to reach the BBBL after a very convincing sweep in the league II.4 finals!
