So I picked up a $300k player for a meaningless final game of the season. Thought it would be cool to have someone like that on the team just to see what he could do and then fire him before the next economy update. But it turns out you can't fire NT players. I've been playing for quite a while now and never knew that was a rule. I listed him multiple times for $1k on the transfer market and nobody wants him. So now he is going to bankrupt my team.

Maybe the intent was to keep NT players from being forced into retirement due to their salary. But same thing will now happen after my team goes bankrupt. It's a terrible rule. If you are going to keep the rule then there should at least be a warning of some sort on the player page noting that you can't fire them.

I feel you. But I also want to point out the irony in this. You've tried to abuse the other stupid rule about firing before economic update and got screwed because of it.

So the real terrible rule is the one you've tried to abuse. You would not be in this situation if you had to pay the salary for a player that you've used.

Abuse? You might be able to say that if I was trying to win a critical game. I wasn't. Win or lose I was still going to be in the same position. I just wanted to have a little fun. So no, I did not "abuse" the system.

As for the people I could still sell, even if I sold everyone but my four lowest salary guys, I'd still be losing money on a weekly basis which would only delay the eventual bankruptcy process. I'm not going to restart from scratch. Again, would highly encourage a warning on the transfer list.
