Man, with the current state of the salary formula and the general approach to player skills, I would love to insert the "Look how they massacred my boy"-meme. It's a disgrace.

I mean we did some nasty stuff with 1-on-1 training for forwards back in my day, but what we have now is filthy. Add the free FT pops, every well trained player become the complete package sooner or later. Where is the fun in that?

Something about this whole setup has me thinking, Let’s look at the timeline and see if this actually adds up, because right now, I’m not buying the official story they giving.

They told us the old "Look Inside" (LI) era was dead, right? Marin and the devs packed it up, said they patched the game, and told everyone to go home. Case closed.

But look closely at the scene of the crime. Look at these modern guards.

Why am I staring at 185cm point guards with an Inside Shot of 25? That’s not a perimeter player. That’s a Hall of Fame center wearing a point guard's jersey.

Wait a minute... did Marin ever actually fix the LI engine?

Think about it. If the engine was truly fixed, how are these players even surviving on the court? He didn’t kill the LI beast at all, did he? He just drove it underground. He left a loophole or a way to appease Li managers in the salary formula—a blind spot where Inside Shot for guards was still dirt cheap. And what happens when you introduce shiny new tools like modern gyms and youth trainers into a broken ecosystem?

The Li community didn't stop playing LI. They just used the new lab equipment to mutate it. They created the "Shaq guard." The beast never left; it just put on a disguise.

So what happens next? Some long time managers on the ground realize the authorities aren't coming to save them. The man-to-man defense is mathematically broken, getting completely bulldozed by these unstoppable mutants.

So, how do you survive a monster? You build a better trap or a better monster or both

The managers evolved. They started breeding "hybrids"—guards and small forwards stacked with Inside Defense and Shot Blocking. They built elite 3-2 zones. They weren't trying to exploit the game; they were literally just trying to put a cage around this LI beast because the devs wouldn't do it themselves. It was an ecosystem finding its own balance.

And then... this sudden, unannounced salary update drops in the dead of night.

Now Let me get this straight. The devs look at a game overrun by unstoppable inside-scoring guards, and what do they do? Do they tax the offensive exploit? Do they make Inside Shot expensive for point guards?

No. They dramatically increase the cost of Inside Defense and Shot Blocking for SFs and guards.

Why would you penalize the defense?

Hold on.
If you tax the ID and the SB... you bankrupt the hybrids.
If you bankrupt the hybrids... the 3-2 zone collapses.

It hits me with a thought,They didn’t target the monster at all. They targeted the vigilantes. Marin and the devs just walked into the room, ignored the LI beast entirely, and shot the hybrids point-blank.

And if the hybrids are dead... and the defensive tools are now too expensive to train...

Good grief. The LI beast is still out there.

Only now, they've taken away the only weapons the community had left to fight it. There’s no cap on this anymore. We're not just going to see IS 24 guards. They're going to push it to 27. Maybe 30.

The devs didn't just fail to catch the monster. They accidentally set it completely free. Intentionally or by mistake is the real question. Maybe , just maybe Li i build is real. Build to play the game..!!!

The whole story about the GE being too difficult to modify is officialy dead in the age of AI. I am no coder but I built a few apps, websites and games myself with Claude code and I am like a trained monkey. If you assign an overhaul to a skilled coder and let him use some AI tools, I am 100% sure a GREAT overhaul of the engine is possible. But lord knows what the Italians are doing rn...

I remember why I left a few years ago and the frustration with the incompetence of the team is the same again. Sad.
