hello

Should the league have stronger penalties for teams that fail to field a valid lineup and receive/give a 50–0 walkover?

**Proposed rules:**

1️⃣ Every team must have a valid starting 5 available for every scheduled game.

2️⃣ **1st offense:** $25K fine + loss of draft pick.

3️⃣ **2nd offense:** $50K fine + additional draft penalty.

4️⃣ **3rd offense:** $100K fine + no access to the player market for 1 season.

5️⃣ **Repeat offenders:** escalating penalties, up to suspension or removal from the league.

6️⃣ Walkovers that affect **playoff seeding or championship outcomes** should receive additional administrative review.

**POLL:** below…. * I wills also say forgetting to set line up is not valid excuses to this issue and shouldn’t be brought tup,There’s box that sets the line up for the whole season.

Poll:  Should “walkovers “ have stronger punishments in leagues.

Yes- abolish 50-0 walk overs.
Yes- but use different penalty, not listed above
No- current system is just fine.
Only punish offender’s
Something else.- i will leave a comment.

This poll ends on 11/28/2026 11:54:38 AM.

Hello

What about manipulation of league standing .I do see theres a draft pick taken away. But i will counter it,as too soft. That’s nothing to making or allowing another team win a league title in playoffs.

That’s a very deep damage , especially in more respected divisions. Allowing walk overs

hello

I don't think you play the game closely enough to see what is actually happening, and being on the staff often causes you to miss the current affair the times. Also with a position of your title, no matter how long you've been here. To claim that **Walkover aren't done to manipulate standings** is simply not true. Out of respect, I will just say I 100% disagree.

Walkovers have changed the standings many times, and they can even hand out clean walks right into the playoffs. They have manipulated the standings and they have manipulated the playoffs.

Also, I see you didn't really read the thread. Even after I pointed out that this isn't an excuse, you still wrote: **They are done by people forgetting to set their lineups or letting their team to abandon.**

I don't like wasting time repeating things that were already laid out properly, but I understand you skipped over what I wrote.

Because of your title, pointing this out will probably be taken as disrespectful, and you'll likely defend your post with aggression. But to be completely transparent, your argument just doesn't hold up. League standings *do* change because of walkovers.

In any real job, people would get fined for not showing up to work. Why do players not get fined here(u can bring losing a draft pick or etc sure ), yet it is somehow okay to hand revenue over to teams with zero player fines when they don't even show up to play? How does that make sense in any world?

As club owners, we are running businesses here. Why shouldn't we enforce that players do their job? Game or not, why isn't this not enforced when there is literally a checkbox to set 5 players? Dismissing it as just people "forgetting" is a convenient blind spot, and saying "oh well" is not an attitude any business should have.

Hello

We all understand life happens and internet drops, but the game gives you a checkbox to pre-set 5 players.

As we all know setting a lineup is the player's (mangers) sole responsibility, and the game has the right tools to prevent no-shows are entirely within their control. Failing to use them isn't an internet issue—it's a lack of accountability. It also manipulation of conference conducts.

There are simply too many excuses and not enough accountability as managers. Convenience can easily become abuse if you let it. This what BB Marin was addressing to us.

While it might balance out luck-wise over time where everyone catches a break, walkovers still shift league standings and playoff spots.

As club owners running businesses here, we shouldn't just shrug and accept avoidable no-shows. Let's find a fair middle ground that respects real-life emergencies( let them state that issue, not just assume) an internet outage can be solved just set 5 player at the beginning the season. It create better balance while still holding managers to a standard.

No player set make them pay a fine.. per player. Each team needs a lineup.. I will say this some-manager are not actively playing the game and have line up set.

Hello

I don't need to bring you specific case-by-case examples of malicious intent because the reason a manager misses a game is entirely irrelevant to the damage it causes. Whether a manager maliciously plans a walkover to throw a match, or simply forgets to check a single box to field five players, the mechanical reality of the game is identical: one team is handed a free win, zero player fatigue, and a completely unearned structural advantage.

When you dismiss this as just '99% careless managers' and say 'oh well,' you are looking at global, macroscopic data from a staff perspective and completely missing the micro-reality on the ground. This why I said you don't play competitive only on a moderator level .A lot would agree with that . As you should, no disrespect in that

To an active manager watching a playoff bracket shift because a competitor got a free pass, statistical averages across 70 seasons ago data don't matter. The competitive balance was broken in their specific league, today.

We are acting as club owners running a virtual businesses . In no real-world system do you tolerate a partner failing to show up to work, handing free revenue and unearned victories to competitors, and wave it away as a simple mistake. It isn’t about being on a high horse; it about league and game integrity , furthermore don't bring politicians into this, it has no place on the site kindly GM.

This about protecting the basic integrity of the competition and the spirit of the game as any manger has to voice should do.. If having a GM title means accepting loopholes just because they happen quietly, then I am completely content with my perspective."

Because BB Marin is tired this lazy attitude among the community.. I don't agree with how he handles his update..but as look forward in staff as ur self, saying it not big deal . The he ain't wrong for what he trying to do. Because it too many folk comfortable with loop holes They want use status to keep it that way . The game has past you on this issue. .

No way should u say this is ok .NO,.not at all .!!
