Hello
In the NHL they have a rule on salary, I just don’t know if know it will be abused or matches basketball.
Salary Arbitration: If a team and a restricted free agent cannot agree, a neutral judge decides the salary. During this formal process, the team's legal/management side is required to present a case arguing why the player's performance or stats mean they deserve a lower salary.
Maybe some of that can used in our free agent market.,

i dont hate it
maybe if the game mods had a option of reviewing to ensure its within a reasonable price range so the game doesnt get lopsided?

Hello
Yes the Gm could see the player is not worth his performance based on stats and skill decline. I do think they do have things there already in the market. .I also do see the free agent thing needs a few tweaks, Some offer are insane for 42 yrs olds but I do understand the balance in the game.

Not to revive a dead thread too much. But some of these players being forced into retirement is due to newer teams buying a player above their ability to financially sustain. The 1 player not able to captain save-a-hoe their team from the mediocrity, and also not help them earn enough money to sustain the player they purchase.
If I recall correctly there once was a limit to salary of players teams could purchase that had some algorithm to it? If it’s still around it needs revisiting. If it’s not it’s worth bringing back in a better way.
Arbitrarily deterring these things based on rankings or leagues is a bad idea. Arena size should factor in. This simulates a player “not wanting to go to a small market team vs a big market team”. Would you rather play for charlotte or for New York City. Kinda feels.

For me it was way too low because I was lucky to get promoted to DIV 1 pretty quickly but could not add the players needed to remain there.
