Beklager at jeg skriver på engelsk, norsken min er dessverre ikke god nok. Heia Norge!

Hi everyone,

I'd like to introduce myself and ask for your consideration as the next Norge National Team coach. My name is Patrick, but friends call me JV.

I first became interested in the Norwegian U21 and National Teams after creating a few players for the USA national team. Around the same time I brought my club side up to the top tier of the pyramid, where I stayed for five straight seasons before the core aged out and had to be sold. Since then, I've made it my focus to build players for Norge, both the U21s and the senior side.

I've been training Johnny Hellerud since he was 18. He has played 83 games for the NT and is currently tied for the career record in blocked shots with 116. Over the past 13 seasons I've trained 12 players who have gone on to represent Norge, 176 competitive games between them, almost all at U21 level. Among them is Johan Skaug, who played 15 competitive games for the U21s across S68 and S69 and is a season or two from pushing the senior squad.

I've done this elsewhere too. Cameron Brooks and Ty Maxwell both came through my club and became mainstays for the USA national team, playing 169 games between them across 20 seasons for one of the strongest squads in the game. I'd like to put that experience to work for Norge.

My goal as coach is simple: improve the side by maximising the development of Norwegian players, and reward the coaches who build world-class ones. Our talent pool is small, but every season brings MVP and Hall of Fame rookies who could become national team players if they're trained properly.

Under my leadership we'll use scrimmages to reward good training, and to give minutes to the next generation of Norwegian talent. I'll also communicate clearly what the squad needs, and work to widen the pool of coaches training Norwegian players. We have talent, and a few more developed properly could make us genuinely competitive and give us a run in the consolation tournament.

And my wish to coach your national team comes from the heart. My dad can trace his family back to Norway. We've always pulled for Norge, and I'll keep building players and supporting the NT and the U21s any way I can, whatever my status as coach.

Also, I've also built a public stats site for Norge, with U21 and national team box scores for every season, feel free to check it out:

Nice landslagsstatistikk.

But it seems off on the number of games played total?

Per-Ivar Kristiansen-Skjeveland - 160 games (179 according to the NT-page in BB)
Ivar Mathisen - 158 (168 according to the NT-page in BB)
Torbjørn Høyer - 147 (157 according to the NT-page in BB)

Thanks for the pushback on some of the data, I have only been putting this together in the last month or so and it is a lot of data to validate!

I just compared my data to the individual season schedules and I found 17 games missing, mostly on the NT side from seasons 24 and 46. This was updated and I believe Per-Ivar Kristiansen-Skjeveland numbers are accurate. One thing to note, my script only counts games played based on actual minutes in the game. I am guessing the BB site counts players rostered in their "games" metric.

Also, it appears seasons 7 and 8 have been purged from the site, I haven't been able to find any international data for those two seasons. There is also a U21 scrimmage from season 17 that will not load either because the site say the game is live, so with one exception, I was able to pull all the data since season 9.
