That was 5+ seasons ago (a year and a half ago) so I don't remember the specifics, but yes it was (mostly) a 5-out scoring system and I had no traditional bigs. The defensive drop off between starters and backups was similar to normal teams, just in my FCP style build. My team struggled slightly more against inside offenses I'd say, but it was mostly just due to rebounding and allowing too many easy put backs. In my semi-final loss of my best D.II FCP season, my team allowed 27 offense rebounds (135130407).

I think my team stats shown for this league when my D.II FCP team was at its absolute peak is the most telling: https://www.buzzerbeater.com/league/17642/overview.aspx?Se...

-I had the league leading scorer (and the 6th highest scorer in the league as well)
-I had the league leading assister
-My team led the league in PPG at 108.0 per game (only two other teams broke 100+ per game)
-My team led the league in FG% at 47.5% (next highest team was 45.2% and only 6 other teams shot above 40%)
-My team led the league in 3FG% at 38.6% (only two other teams shot above 35%)
-My team was 3rd in FT% at a very efficient 86.7%
-My team led the league in assists per game at 25.7 and were 2nd best in terms of turnovers (just 8.5 per game)
-My team led the league in steals per game (9.7 per game and 2.1 more per game than any other team)
-My team was 5th in blocks per game at 5.8

My team was 15th in rebounds per game at 41.8 (most other competitive teams were at 51+ per game)

Despite having by far the most efficient offense in the entire league and very good defense-skilled players, I think the lack of rebounding (that had to stay low due to salary reasons and needing a deeper team to run FCP as well as being able to have other skills higher for my offense) was the fatal flaw that makes me think it would be impossible to effectively and sustainably compete in D.I with a FCP style.

If money was no limitation at all, I'm sure a team could be constructed and bought that fits FCP and could work at the D.I level but that would require 10-15 million in the bank in addition to already having a lot of the pieces in place. This experiment was operating under a (mostly) standard bankroll and training setup.

I hope this provides some interesting context for you!

Very much so. It also answered all my initial questions, and even some follow ups I might have had.

Have you moved on to other experiments from that poll done seasons ago?
