The World Championships ended tonight with a 64-99 loss to China: (82416)

Once again, the opposing offense overwhelmed our defense: 42-90 from the field and 24 assists. We were also dominated on the boards. Unfortunately, we are still far from the top teams in the world.

MOTM: Vadiveloo Moshoeli with 25 points (8-14), 4 rebounds, and 3 assists.

While waiting for the next season, some friendly games are on the schedule.
We started tonight with a 131-122 W over Saudi Arabia: (82791)

It was a very offensive game with both teams adopting a fast-paced tactic.
The R&G offense paid off with a high number of 3-pointers (15-33) and assists (32).

MOTM: Stan Watkins, who scored 22 points (10-17) in 22 minutes, coming off the bench.
The game took place in his club's arena which he knows like the back of his hand!

On Monday, Muileki Simelaine, the team captain and one of the best players of all time for the South African national team, will bid farewell.

To celebrate his career, a scrimmage against Denmark will be played at his club's arena in Taiwan.

He holds the record for the most rebounds in the national team (1,601) and is also the 10th highest scorer of all time (2,163 points).

Every Friday, he was in great shape and ready for action. He was undoubtedly the backbone of the team!

Since his 1st selection in season 60, he has participated in every adventure and will honor his 148th selection.

A huge thank you to his manager Moonlight, who has trained him so well and kept him in shape for many seasons!

I selected 12 players for the 1st scrimmage of the season. We're playing New Zealand tonight.
Barring injury or poor shape, these 12 players should start the Africa Championship next week.

If your player is not on the initial list, it does not mean that he will not be called up later.
Train him and keep him in shape. The season is long. There will be many opportunities.

We lost by 1 point to New Zealand, 115-116: (83299).

Moyo Mosili missed the game-winning shot at the buzzer.

Our enthusiasm was at 1 after the roster reset, unlike that of our opponents, so it's not such a bad result.

MOTM: Leabua Moloto filled up the stat sheet with 21 points (9-15, including 3-3 from 3-point range), 6 rebounds and 5 assists.

The Africa Championship kicks off on Monday evening with a match against Ghana.
The goal will be to reach at least the semi-finals.
As in recent seasons, Morocco and Egypt will be formidable opponents.
There could also be a few surprise teams.
If the players are in good shape and the training pays off, we may be able to dream of winning the title.
But it will be a long road, and as is often the case, every detail will count.

We started the season with a 112-99 W over Ghana: (83200).

The game was close for a long time, as Ghana's coach had decided to put more into this game.
We were down by 2 points going into the 4th quarter. Our players took control of the game at the right time to win the final quarter 37-22 and thus start this tournament in the best possible way.

MOTM: Anuiyelewa Nthite was everywhere with 35 points (15-23), 16 rebounds and 7 assists (without any turnovers).

Special mention goes to Motlatsi Maree, who dominated the paint with 9 blocks and 16 rebounds.

The next game will be against Nigeria. Please keep your players in shape!

Bad news this week :
Bagindawo Lenshina has been forced into retirement, despite his young age (30). (51531291)
He was the second-best passer in the history of the South African NT.
The manager who signed him during the off-season fired him. He was automatically put on the TL for $500K.
The price was excessive because despite his 19 OD / PA, he had some weaknesses in other key skills.
No team signed him and I couldn't save him by calling him up because he was a free agent.

That is unfortunate news. He’s a really experienced guard only at age 30. He really could’ve been the best passer in South Africa NT.
