If a manager wants to complete Koos Linden's training, he is currently available for a reasonable $300K. His secondary skills, particularly outside defense, handling and passing need improvement. Then it will be time to focus on rebounding. If he is trained well, he will likely be recalled to the NT. He is not a usual starter in the NT, but he can be very useful as a backup when he is in good shape. (52924929)

We beat Tunisia today 106-89: (83212)

Our perimeter players secured the score with excellent shooting accuracy (45%), while our big men locked down the paint and dominated the boards (+15).

MOTM: Vadiveloo Moshoeli scored 28 points (12-23).

Match against Algeria next Monday.

We defeated a tenacious Algerian NT with a score of 107-92: (83217)

After a convincing 1st half, our players were surprised by their opponents' intensity after the break and let them close the gap in the 3rd quarter. Fortunately, they managed to regain control in the final 12 minutes to secure another win.

MOTM: Moyo Mosili with 23 points (9-20), 7 assists and 2 rebounds.

We have a big fight coming up against Morocco, next Monday.

Please keep your players in good shape!

Morocco beat us last night, 95-74: (83220)

The opposing coach decided to invest more effort in this game.
This decision was predictable, as Morocco already had 2L and couldn't afford to jeopardize its chances in the 2nd round.

Personally, I have chosen to reserve the enthusiasm for future battles. We'll see later if this long-term strategy pays off.

MOTM: Moyo Mosili scored 28 points (11-21), grabbed 4 rebounds and dished out 2 assists.

Another top-of-the-table clash next Monday against Egypt, currently undefeated.

We managed to beat Egypt today, 77-72: (83225)

There are no longer any undefeated teams in this tournament.

It was a very close game in which defense clearly outplayed offense.
Both teams finished with a low FG percentage (33%).

It all came down to the details, and our slight edge in turnovers (8 to 12) as well as our dominance in blocks (16 to 7) made the difference.

MOTM: Anuiyelewa Nthite finished the game with 20 points (9/20) and 11 rebounds.

Special mention goes to Motlatsi "not in my house" Maree who dominated the paint with 7 blocks and 11 rebounds.

The 2nd-round schedule will be released this week.

Here is the updated standings before the start of the 2nd round:

1- Egypt: 4W / 1L +60

4- Tunisia: 3W / 2L +25
5- Algeria: 1W / 4L -42
6- Senegal: 0W / 5L -116

Ghana and Nigeria have been eliminated.
Only the results against the other qualified teams were retained.

It took overtime to beat Morocco 115–108: (83807)

It was a very close game between 2 of the tournament favorites.

Down by 9 points at the start of the 4th quarter, we managed to take the lead with 50 seconds left.
While we were leading by 2 points with 9 seconds left, the Moroccans forced overtime with an offensive rebound followed by a buzzer-beater.
Our players got the job done in OT to secure an interesting W in the race for a spot in the semifinals.
A slight advantage in rebounding and excellent FT shooting made the difference in this game.

MOTM: Moyo Mosili nearly recorded a triple-double with 28 points (9-17), 10 rebounds and 9 assists.

We will face Senegal next Monday.

We beat Senegal tonight 95-85: (83809)

Senegal put more energy into this game than we did, but it didn't change the outcome.

Our shooting wasn't optimal, but our solid defense and our opponents' numerous fouls allowed us to remain relatively calm.

MOTM: Vadiveloo Moshoeli finished with 20 points (7-17).

Special mention to our twin towers Motlatsi Maree (15 rebounds and 6 blocks) and Leabua Moloto (10 rebounds and 4 blocks).

Next game vs. Tunisia.

Tunisia beat us on Monday night: (83812)

The Tunisian coach used more enthusiasm, and with their home-court advantage, it was difficult to compete.

Some of our players weren't at their best this week either.

We were dominated on the boards and committed too many turnovers.

MOTM: Anuiyelewa Nthite with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists.

In the standings, we remain tied for 1st place with Egypt (6W-2L) who lost in OT to Morocco, who narrowed the gap (5W-3L).

We'll have to bounce back in the next match against Algeria.

Last Monday, we lost 106-118 to Algeria after double overtime: (83815)

Once again, the opposing coach decided to put more into the game than us.

Our shooting accuracy was good, but we gave up too many rebounds and free throws.

MOTM: Anuiyelewa Nthite with 27 points (12-23), 13 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 blocks.

With Egypt's loss to Tunisia and Morocco's victory against Senegal, the standings are extremely tight, with 3 teams tied for 1st place (6W-3L).

We have already qualified for the semifinals. The result of the last game against Egypt next Monday will determine our final position.

We're entering the home stretch. So I'm counting on you to keep your players in top form!
