Last Monday, we lost 106-118 to Algeria after double overtime: (83815)

Once again, the opposing coach decided to put more into the game than us.

Our shooting accuracy was good, but we gave up too many rebounds and free throws.

MOTM: Anuiyelewa Nthite with 27 points (12-23), 13 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 blocks.

With Egypt's loss to Tunisia and Morocco's victory against Senegal, the standings are extremely tight, with 3 teams tied for 1st place (6W-3L).

We have already qualified for the semifinals. The result of the last game against Egypt next Monday will determine our final position.

We're entering the home stretch. So I'm counting on you to keep your players in top form!

Egypt beat us 83-77 on Monday night: (83817)

The game came down to the small details, particularly fouls and turnovers.
Both teams finished with fairly similar shooting percentages.

MOTM: Moyo Mosili with 25 points (12-22), 4 rebounds and 8 assists.

As expected, the final standings are very close:
1- Egypt 7W - 3L
2- Morocco 6W - 4L
3- South Africa 6W - 4L
4- Tunisia 5W - 5L
5- Algeria 5W - 5L
6- Senegal 1W - 9L

Here is the schedule for the semifinals, which promise to be highly competitive:
Egypt vs. Tunisia
Morocco vs. South Africa

The semifinals will take place on Friday.

Only Tunisia, as the tournament host, will have home-court advantage.

This season, our matches against Morocco have resulted in one win and one loss. We can expect a very close game.

I'm counting on all managers to keep the players in top form!

We beat Morocco 80-66 in the semifinals: (84123)

A strong start allowed us to quickly build a 10-point lead, which we more or less maintained until the end.

Defense was the deciding factor. Morocco has the best offense in the tournament.
Their lowest point total this season was 87. We held them to 66 points.

Hats off to our defensive captain Motlatsi Maree who led by example with 9 rebounds, 3 steals and 6 blocks!

MOTM: Moyo Mosili finished with 17 points (6-13) and 4 rebounds.

On Monday, we'll play in the final against Egypt who defeated Tunisia 88-74.

Thank you. We faced Egypt twice this season, with a record of one win and one loss. I expect it to be a close game.

Unfortunately, we lost the African championship final against Egypt 75-90: (84202)

I'm obviously disappointed, because I don't think we were that far from the gold medal.
Our poor shooting from the field surprised me and was the main reason for the loss.

There are, however, reasons to be optimistic about the coming seasons.
The core of the team is relatively young and will continue to improve.
Most of the managers are dedicated and do an excellent job of training the players.
There are also some promising prospects who should knock on the door in a few seasons if they are properly trained.

Season 72:

We are going to play the World Cup.
It's going to be tough, as usual, but I'll do my best to rack up a few wins.

In the coming days, I will sort out and identify all the South African players likely to join the NT sooner or later.

To kick off the season, the defense captain Motlatsi Maree decided to invite the whole team to play a scrimmage in Canada, next Monday.

If you need advice during the season, my mailbox is always open.

Ooh, it’s going to be nice to be in the World Cup and it’ll be interesting to see how Maree and SA team fare vs the Canadian NT.
