Iโ€™d rather not get into who I may or may not have been previously on BB. I donโ€™t really think it changes the point Iโ€™m trying to make here
That said, I actually agree with you. I donโ€™t think Iโ€™ve criticised whitewindโ€™s tactical ability at all, as heโ€™s clearly a capable coach and the past results speak for themselves. Multiple continental golds and a World Cup bronze is no small achievement.
My point was never really about tactics. That said, some of the comments around specific games are questionable. The comments about the 79 points or "flogginf" of a 5 man Singapore team.. but thatโ€™s not really the point I'm trying to make

Itโ€™s more about how the roster gets to where it is
Like you said, the coach can only work with the squad available to him and thatโ€™s exactly why Iโ€™m questioning whether the process behind building that squad could be improved
From my perspective, not being contacted at all, and I assume Iโ€™m not the only one, makes it feel like thereโ€™s definitely room for improvement. If potentially useful players arenโ€™t being identified and guided early, then itโ€™s not surprising if the overall pool ends up weaker than it could be

Woulnd't you agree?

Yeah, thereโ€™s some truth in that
If the community isnโ€™t as involved as it used to be, then of course a lot more falls on the coach, and over time that can become pretty heavy
But at the same time, I also feel like it works both ways. If managers arenโ€™t really being contacted or involved early on, itโ€™s less likely theyโ€™ll take the initiative themselves
So maybe part of the issue is that things have gradually become a bit too dependent on one person. And if thatโ€™s the case, then itโ€™s understandable if after so many seasons it starts to feel like a lot. Maybe even a bit of burnout creeping in.

Sometimes a short break or a change can actually help reset things and get more people involved again
And just to be clear, Iโ€™m not putting myself forward for the role. I donโ€™t think Iโ€™m ready for it and I definitely wouldnโ€™t have the time right now. But maybe thereโ€™s something or someone that could help bring a bit of life back into a community (and a team) that feels like itโ€™s fading a bit

Turkey defeats Aus 81-64
Gave the GDP a swing since I felt we would fall short but missed. We didn't have a great advantage to push against them, they are solid through so positions.

MVPs
3- Curtis 12pts, 4 assists, 2 boards
2- Youren 9pts, 9 boards, and 2 blocks
1- Pollentes 11pts, 4 assists, 4 boards. Took a lot of shots at low %

Hi mate, Azerbaijan U21 coach here.

Let me use an old, classic quote
Ain't gonna be no rematch!

Actually, there will be: (83953)

My prediction: Azerbaijan 58 - Australia 104

See you on Monday!

I never said I have players that are U21/NT ready right now. What I said is that Iโ€™ve got a couple who could potentially get there in 2/3 seasons (u21). Yet Iโ€™ve never once been contacted about their development, not even now, after I mentioned it here, so I assume nobody even bothered to check

That's why you should train players form Azerbaijan.

Let me show you one of our U21 player:

Jump Shot: inept Jump Range: pitiful
Outside Def.: average Handling: proficient
Driving: awful Passing: average
Inside Shot: prolific Inside Def.: prominent
Rebounding: prolific Shot Blocking: strong
Stamina: average Free Throw: awful

F*** me
Thatโ€™s shocking
We actually lost to that?!
Not to these guys: (54443559) or (54443554)?
Far out....

Should I start training Azerbaijan players, will my BB-mails just get ignored like Mr โ€œyou can use is to bbmail the team coach to have the discussion. I'm answering half a dozen each week and those managers are getting the help and feedback they wantโ€ does or would you have the courtesy to answer??

Hi Bill, I sent you an invite just so we get to scrimmage mate. Not a rematch. We have emptied out roster out of u21s and put future players on there, so our enthusiasm is back to 1. Thanks for accepting
