According to the Hebrew Bible, the Tablets of the Law were the two stone tablets inscribed with the Ten Commandments when Moses ascended Mount Sinai as written in the Book of Exodus.
According to the biblical narrative, the first set of tablets, inscribed by the finger of God, were smashed by Moses when he was enraged by the sight of the Children of Israel worshiping a golden calf, (because the ppl were not taking Moses seriously, it took to long etc, and the second new tablets were later chiseled out by Moses and rewritten by God
Why did God instruct Moses to "chisel out two stone tablets" after that?
Setting the scene: broken covenant, broken tablets
“Then it came to pass, as soon as Moses came near the camp and saw the calf and the dancing, Moses’ anger burned, and he threw the tablets out of his hands, shattering them at the base of the mountain.” (Exodus 32:19)
• Israel’s idolatry with the golden calf violated the (2nd commandment of the) covenant almost as soon as it had been ratified (Exodus 24:3–8).
So still a no to the stone Statue, offcourse!!! And you are warned... One day you will stand before the Creator. Right? Or are you one of those who thinks a house has a architect and a watch needs to be made by a watch-maker, but life, ppl, heart/blood/veins, are completed without any mind/reason. Dont be a fool!. Are you one of those who thinks one could become without the other in micro evolution?? Without blood, no veins, without veins/blood, no heart etc..
All created things point to a Creator. And my starting point is: all history and current days of life points to a Creator that has rules to live by. Which would be quite obvious if there is a creator...
• The smashed STONE tablets were the visible proof that Israel had broken fellowship with the LORD.
God’s instruction: “Chisel out two stone tablets again” (another chance, the same as JESUS on THE CROSS!!!!!)
“The LORD said to Moses, ‘Chisel out two stone tablets like the first ones, and I will write on them the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke.’” (Exodus 34:1)
