Game was a lot closer than the score shows.

Nice win, good call using more enthusiasm.

I'm sorry, but that's just not good enough
Even if all four of their teams have a Utopia team, that's still about twenty times fewer teams than we have and that's assuming none of our teams have one. That's just unacceptable
They had a decent team.
One that didn't even qualify....
Shameful.
And the exact same thing happened last week with the national team against Kazakhstan!! And we even had home court advantage for that one! Pathetic
If this were politics, people would be calling for resignations. Something has to change
I mean, I've got a couple of decent players myself and I've never been contacted by either the U21 or NT coach. Maybe they're not quite NT/U21 level, who knows, but looking at these results, you'd think it might at least be worth checking
Far out

Well they Ctd us which I don't get any control over, but it's obviously worked for them. We have saved enthusiasm so our game enthusiasm is quite good, that's in my control. What else was in my control was our tactics. I scouted them and saw a pattern that they were likely to GDP us, so I looked at what they might think we would go and went away from that. Add a result they got a gdp wrong, that is a positive not only that I got something going out way, but that I spent the time scoring a team in detail that was ranked 65th in the world.

The result itself is tough to accept. When you look at the breakdown of the shots per 100 and the game summary, is hard to see how we only scored 79 points.

If there are players from our country that you as a manager feels needs to be bought to my attention, one strategy you can use is to bbmail the team coach to have the discussion. I'm answering half a dozen each week and those managers are getting the help and feedback they want.

What I meant with the politics comment is that if this were politics people would be out in the streets asking for change, protesting, demanding answers.

Also, how can you say the coaches aren’t part of the problem? whitewind has been the coach for 40+ seasons now and the last truly impressive result was like 30 seasons ago?

I never said I have players that are U21/NT ready right now. What I said is that I’ve got a couple who could potentially get there in 2/3 seasons (u21). Yet I’ve never once been contacted about their development, not even now, after I mentioned it here, so I assume nobody even bothered to check
So what’s the system here?
Are we just relying on whatever random players happen to train by chance?

And that’s really my point.. I’m not saying the coaches are tactically incompetent, I honestly don’t know enough to judge that, but the fact that we currently don’t have a roster capable of beating fucking Azerbaijan, even with a missed GDP (even if they Ctd), is a/the problem

That shouldn’t be acceptable for a country with our player base

Honestly, I don’t really see why the CT was such a surprise
They were fighting for what would have been a historic top 32 finish for their country so it seems pretty obvious they were going to play Crunch Time in this game
Also, the way you mention scouting and analysing them almost makes it sound like it’s something extra, when realistically that’s just part of the job description for a national team coach!! Them being ranked 65th in the world shouldn’t mean we scout them less carefully

And I have to say, your analysis of the shots per 100 confuse me...
If we average roughly 93 points per 100 shots, and we only took 84 shots in the game, basic maths would suggest a total around 78 points. So scoring 79 doesn’t actually seem that strange.

And yes, there is one thing I’d genuinely like to bring to your attention.
I really think either the U21 or NT staff should be actively reaching out to managers who have players that could potentially become u21/national team material in the future
When you say you’re answering half a dozen BB-mails a week, that’s great, but that still means the initiative mostly comes from the managers themselves (176 users!!!)
In my opinion, the national team staff should probably be the ones starting those conversations more often
And if this amount of scouting/communication already feels like a lot, then maybe that’s a sign that you yourself are a bit burnt out with the role

Just my humble opinion

Glad to hear your passion for the team mate. Let's keep positive comments and avoid negative rot creeping in. I'm not wasting time, is rather help managers with training and get decent u21 players built with people who want to work together

We gained nothing by wasting enthusiasm on the game, we already qualified for the next round, so we dropped a tie vs CT in a nothing game for us

Keep training those trainees, happy to help but sounds like your all over this game
