Been playing for awhile. Can't break past League III. Any tips?

besides not starting teenagers, haha, trying to train a bunch of young guys this year.

I wish I had tips, but I haven't had the best of luck either. Been playing a long time as well and only made it to II once. Despite my lack of success, I wanted to add even more difficulty and now I run a homegrown team...which brings about its own challenges. I actually feel like I could be getting the hang of it though. If I don't demote, I might be ready to make a run in two seasons.

Always wondered, has the homegrown approach resulted in higher merchandise revenue or a more supportive fanbase? It's something i'll consider if i decide to blow up the team

There is a boost from merchandise, but I don't think it's too big. Right now in the Homegrown & Locals category, I'm making $28,027. As far as a more supportive fanbase, I don't think it has any impact on that. There are a few things I wish they'd tweak to make it a little more easygoing for homegrown teams..."The general manager is doing everything he can to try to improve the team" on my fan survey is always at 1/2 a ball because I never buy anybody (except the rare case where one of my former draftees shows up for sale).
