I have a suggestions for the playoffs.

Why don't we do a inter-conference playoffs: (For Example)
Quarter Finals
1st seed Big 8 vs 4th seed Great 8 (QF1)
2nd seed Big 8 vs 3rd seed Great 8(QF2)
3rd seed Big 8 vs 2nd seed Great 8(QF3)
4th seed Big 8 vs 1st seed Great 8(QF4)

Semi Finals
Winner of QF1 vs Winner of QF4 (SF1)
Winner of QF2 vs Winner of QF3 (SF2)

Finals
Winner of SF1 vs Winner of SF2 (Better Record Twice-To-Beat)

And also an inter conference wild-card playoffs for 5th to 8th seed
5th seed Big 8 vs 8th seed Great 8
6th seed Big 8 vs 7th seed Great 8
7th seed Big 8 vs 6th seed Great 8
8th seed Big 8 vs 5th seed Great 8
The loser in the wild card will be demoted
Higher seed twice-to-beat advantage.

Based on your suggestion, the 1st seed in the Big 8 would play with the 1st seed in the Great 8 in the SFs if indeed that does happen.

So whats the point of being top of the table and the 1st seed. Finishing as the second seed in either the Big or Great 8 would be better.
