A question from Nt coach:
On which basis will you set your cooperation with NT?
Cooperation must be open and in the best interest of SA teams.
In general, I think that NT deserves priority. Exception could be done to afford specific matches.
It is even more relevant training and scouting. As South Africa is a young BB-country, there is much to do. My idea is to work on two subsequent generations of talents. One is about this season and this mandate. Some players could be sacrificed aiming at a longer term growth, in agreement with their managers, to refurbish NT roster in longer term. May be in some cases training could be suboptimal to U21, but I will accept it.
It is much more interesting to boost growth of second generation, aiming to next season and next mandate (to myself or successor, it is unrelevant). Managers and scouts will plan together a longer term training plan, pushing as much as possble on monorole trainings. According to what I know from DB, you should be able to build a generation of talents that could not only give a lot of momentum to U21, but to boost NT as well.
A proposal I can make to you is to share scouts. I think that continuity of relationships between scouts and managers is quite relevant. Moreover, I think that (if voted!) I could coordinate scout work in agreement with you, maximizing the opportunity to grow talents in short and long term, with a coherent approach that could enable South Africa to create a full, solid roster, while nowaday situation is a bit too fragmented (obvious at this stage of country growth).
My dream would be that at the end of mandate both teams would be much more competitive than now (30% or more in evaluation). I am confident we can do that.
