for the manager, I can't seem to justify voting for anyone other than jbmcrock. so my vote goes to him.

For the player: I got to stick with my guy! :D Laviolette. It was a sad day when I sold him, but there's no crying in BuzzerBeater. I'm not sure if he's the player who had the biggest impact on Canada, but he did have a big impact on one of Canada's top 4 team.

Nice idea Rip btw.

Once one player and one manager has been elected my plan is to create a view only thread (hopefully a GM or Mod will lock it) where everyone can see the Canadian greats

Just let me know.

A CT? Really?
Any two will do
Any three for me

Great idea! I think the first inductions are no-brainers, though.

jbmcrock
PG Jean-Francois Joly

Perhaps to keep things streamlined, you can set a criteria for nominations. Something like: x number of seasons playing BB for the manager and x number of NT appearences for the player. Just a thought.

interesting idea.

choices: jbm and

Romero:

He had the highest salary ever before(I'm not sure which season) and made me curious about his skills. Of course, now it is not unusual at all.

I like this idea!

JBM is no-brainer. He's probably the most successful manager in the game from any country.

It might be my short time spent in the game but I really think that Wendon deserves to be nominated. He was definitely one of the most coveted and admired players in the game since I started and is the player I think of when I think of the NT.

Bah, he probably deserves to be mentioned but does not deserve to be nominated first. Even the guy who eventually bought him from me sent a nice message saying he overpaid by at least 1 million (yeah, I held a gun to his head and made him bid).

Joly was hurt when they introduced potential although it seems he was also hurt by the two position training almost his whole career. I think oeuftete said once that he was the best draftee in the whole of BB by a good margin that season.

By the way, will we ever have a PG worth mentioning? Canada seems to be the place where all the guards becoming SGs. I think our NT will never make it to the next level until that changes. It is telling when RIP has to consider adding a guy like Picard to the team. Just consider that my player Turcan will be battling for a starting role on the Slovakian team this season and that gives you an idea of how far behind we are.

I would also just add two things:
1) Is individual success/club success more important than contributing to the national team? The other way around? Is this a national team hall of fame or a league hall of fame or a national hall of fame? (not really expecting an answer so much as throwing out the fact that these things are probably worth considering for all of us)

2) In future seasons it might be better to move this to mid-season, just before the all-star break rather than having it at the beginning of the season. The forum gets busy around election time/NT scouting time at the begining of seasons, and it would be nice to have a regular, high traffic thread come out during the mid-season forum lull. But that's just me.
