Depends on the skillset of your team and the team you're playing.

I had a look at both your teams briefly, and I think you should play a 3-2 zone. If your center and power forward have good Inside Shot then I would play a Look Inside offence. If they do not have good Inside Shot then I would play Push the Ball.

Goodluck!

completely off topic but you should probably sell the 18 yr old mvp player you have .
being new to the game theres probably alot you dont understand yet so selling him is most likely the best thing for your team.
use the profits to buy better players.
this will help you win games and hopefully get promoted.

Or....we can help MissBasketball gain an understanding of training, which can then be used to train said player, and promote to Div III, which by then, that player would be key to the team. It's not like Div IV in Australia is hard, it's mainly bots.

i understand we could do that and i do intend to help her ,i just dont think its the best thing for her team.
selling the player now will give her much more profit.
then when she promotes she will still have a high chance of good draftees seeing as div 4 is mainly bots.

Depends how much his bank balance is at the moment. His team is currently last in the standings, and we are almost half way through the season. So if he has enough money to upgrade his team substantially and definitely promote this season then keep the 18 year old. But I personally love to chase the promotion, and I would sell the 18 year old mvp and buy a whole new team.

I went from Div IV to Div II in 2 seasons, training my now U21 PF and another 2 trainees which I purchased next to him. It's possible, and quite doable.

Miss, I'd suggest a balanced offense like Push the Ball, should give you a solid indication of where your strengths lie after a few games. PTB also looks for the best shot, whether it be inside or outside, so you won't be too reliant and become a one trick pony. Best defense against a Base Offense depends on the opponent, sometimes it's 3-2, other times Man to Man. If you have a PG and SG with 6/7 OD, play M2M. It should cover your opponent's shooters.

In regards to training, send me a BB-Mail.

New teams start with 300k, and get an extra 50k for the first 3 weeks (iirc).

$450k is more than enough to buy a decent trainee or two with star potential, and then a few oldies to balance the squad.

In Div IV, expenses are a not an issue. The chances of promotion this season are slim.

The other option is to train well for 1 season, then sell next season and buy players who are being sold after the draft. Due to the flood of players, there's always a bargain if you look hard enough.

I started last season and promoted from div 4 to div 3. And I am top of my conference this season and still in the cup, so I realise that it is quite doable. All I am saying is he has 2 options, 1 is to try and promote this season, and the second option is to stay in div 4 and try and train for a season and establish yourself and get some experience before advancing.

I prefer the first option of trying to promote rather than stay in the same division and that is what I did. If he also wants to go this way, he could get quite a bit of money for an 18 year old MVP (depending on his skill set) and with that money plus the 300k he currently has he could easily buy some great players which would virtually gaurantee him promotion this season.

I'm not doubting your credentials. Nor do I know why you need to mention the cup. It's like me saying I made the quarter-finals last season in the cup. I'm just saying that training is a viable option.

In the end, both options are doable. Some prefer to buy instant success, I trained my team from ground up.

3 wins off the top 4 with 14 games remaining, plenty of time.
