After round 1, with some heavy mismatches because of rebuilding, we are left with the 4 best teams in the NBBA! 2 of the remaining teams just squared off last night in the National Cup Tournament giving us a chance at a rematch in the NBBA League finals should both King Drive Ballers and Rocket Science advance with wins Saturday. In the Cup game, King Drive won convincingly 88-66

Silverbacks has been the most consistent team all season, and looks to ride the best defense in the league and HCA to the finals! To do that they will have to overcome the National Cup Champion and a payroll disadvantage of over $100K. The Silverbacks are by far the best outside team in the country and just about anytime they play it's a contrast in styles, but never more so apparent than when they play one of the best inside scoring teams in the country. These are two of the more storied teams in NBBA history, and this conference Championship looks to be a great game!
In a very unlikely Great 8 Conference Championship Final, Funky Town Fire will travel to face Rocket Science. Both teams emerged late in the season sort of coming out of nowhere to be where they are today. Rocket Science has been in the mix, but right at the end of the season, and right after making it to the Cup Championship, they have a great chance to advance to the League Finals playing in front of their home crowd.
Rocket Science has the highest payroll in the league, and are a terrific inside attacking team. Funky Town plays a similar style, but but will have to overcome playing on the road, and being a little undermanned in a couple of positions. That said, when Funky Town brings their A game, they can compete, and win against anybody! This game also looks to be highly competitive and a lot of fun!
