As i did not manager to get to the World Cup directly, we had to play qualification games. I am not a pessimistic person, but we have no chances to advance. So we going to play Consolation tournament starting with 2 losses.

We have shedule for qualification. All games will be played in New Zealand.

Great news. As i justed found time to work with the team, i missed the fact that games will be played 3AM. I supposed evening games so havent set linup for the game. So we are going to test blank lineup. i tested it in SC and i need to say that some positions were randomly assigned. I am sorry for my mistake, but i need to say that ball difference makes no sense if we fall into Consolation tournament.
Of course, we could try to get 1W for example, but Lietuva and Brazil are too strong and New Zealand is host and has homecourt advantage. Furthemore, that would cost us too much enthusiasm, that we need for future games.

Planes for the season. Get wins vs equal opponents and put all efforts in players trainings and communicating with the managers. We may have red calendar, but i hope that you understand the situation.

interesting to know which is the effect of blank lineup. Appreciate if you could share - even privately if you prefer.

We have already played 2 qualification games and lost any chances to play at World Cup. It is sad, but i have nothing to do.

South Africa U21 vs. Lietuva U21 73 - 122
As i said before, i missed the point that game starts 3AM and we played blank lineup with only 5 players and even had 6 fouls so couldnt finish the game. So it is gg, -49 as a result.

South Africa vs. Brasil 86 - 105
We have huge roster problems this season so i had to recruit even this season draftees, Malangeni even played starting SF (36mins, 8points, 7rebs, 4 assists, 2 steals). I am realy satisfied with his debut and i think he will be playing as a starter next games. -19 point difference is realy good result if we compare teams squads. i played slow pace to reduce the point gap and could even made better result if used GDP (actually it was obvious that Brazil will play fast pace). This year team leaders played as i expected: Toivo - 31 points, Cebekhului - 10 points+21 rebs. Also, Nyoni has double-double - 14p, 12r and Nyagumbo showed up good shooting performance - 18points, 8-18FG.

The next match we will play vs New Zealand, the host of qualifications. It is going to be another test for our team before Consolation tournament.

Is enthusiasm reset before consolation tournament?

Yes, if the team has enth above 5, it will be reset to 5. If the team has enth below 5 (for example 3) it will be the same (3).

well, this match was really close and we lost just 12 to the host of the qualification. they had homecourt advantage that normally gives 10-15 points advantage. So, if we played neutral arena we could even win.
I played normal, we cant play CT because our enth will be below 5, and tie would gave us like 8 enth, wich will be reset to 5. Their manager played only LI previous matches, so i decided to make GDP and i succedeed. 2-3 zone worked well both defence and rebounds (we won rebs 46-43).

About players:
double-doubles Cebekhului (18p, 16r) and Nyoni (11p, 13r)
Also i would like to notice Tembo. Previous match i played with Tsenoli who got injury, so i decided to give Tembo chance and i dont regret (21 mins, 16p, 6-16FG).

Tomorrow we will get shedule and i will talk about our chances. We gonna start 0-2, so its not likely we could win all 6 matches and play playoffs.

South Africa U21 vs. Macau U21 74 - 72
If you look at team rosters, it appears that we had to win easily, but it was not so easy at all. We won just +2 and only because of correct GDP, their manager was predictable and played 3rd match in a row Patient without using GDP. We were donw by 18 in the early 4th but made amazing comeback and won 4th quater 35-15, including last second buzzerbeater from Nyagumbo. I would like to notice Tembo as MVP of this match, despite having not the best team skills and salary, he made decisive contribution in the end.
Next match we will host Austria, and i will try to surprise them.

Ok, i waited for a while to make my post at least a bit positive and today i am ready to review NT games.

Österreich U21 vs. South Africa U21 103 - 69 (31006)
Really unexpected score for me. I thought that we may be weaker, but so huge gap proved opposite. Their salaries is low, but as i imagine, they have multikill squad. Most players have PG, SF, PF positions, which means all-around players. We also have shit multiskills, but they are by far behind. Also i missed GDP and the situation became horrible.

South Africa U21 vs. Eesti U21 53 - 99 (31048)
That was obviuos loss and -46 is not so bad result if you compare the teams.

Rep. Dominicana vs. South Africa 49 - 90 (31091)
Now lets talk about positive things. We won by solid margin so that 4th quater was played by full reserves. Their players have high salaries but more likely to be just monoskill Cs. I decided to play normal, because i really expected CT from them and wanted to get W for sure. It was obvious that they will run inside offence, so 2-3 is great remedy. We swept them on boards more than twice 54-26 and limited their offence with low FG %. All players performed well, especially Cebekhului, who dominated in GS9 with 22p+15rebs.

Our next opponent is Island. We have to win them if we have equal GS rates.
