A disappointing season 39 is in the book. And a new adventure is waiting. Target of the season is clear - be the best american team to be host of the next continental championship. And the team is quiet promising - at least for now. Will see if it change during the season. There will be not that much change in the team. I will keep our three oldtimer - also for the fact, that there is no player close to them. We have some problems coming up the next season, but I will start to work on this. SO I will send mails to the manager of candidates for the next season and I will start at the end of this week. I am currently on a road trip and internet access is not always possible. And to make my job properly, I need some time and this starts end of the week. I will also start a folder "Project Canadian NT", where I will list the potential and actual candidates and where they stand in terme of a possible NT nomination and what the managers have done with them the last season (e.g. how many skill points player X have managed to add during season 39). But like before, this need some time.

I want to thank the managers for the kindness to consider my wishes in terms of training. It already started to pay off. If you all continue you good job, we can have a bride future as Team Canada in BB.

And of course, If you have question, write a message here in the forum, or in the CanadaBB-forum outside of BB ... or if you want to discuss with a bit more privacy drop a BB-Mail, I will answer every mail, and as fast as possible.

Joe-Max Egan (43216540) is on sale. His manager Statsman (33249) is open for offers. Drop a message and give him a serious offer and this player can be your next trainee.

His skills are really good to begin with. From special interest is the low value in rebounding, which saves cap space for other things.

Jump Shot: respectable Jump Range: strong
Outside Def.: respectable Handling: inept
Driving: awful Passing: average
Inside Shot: strong Inside Def.: inept
Rebounding: pitiful Shot Blocking: inept
Stamina: inept Free Throw: inept

Experience: atrocious TSP: 53 (35 + 18)

not really ... I started with a similar player and he is making his last strides towards the Swedish NT. It just take a little bit more time and patience.

He started with:
2 1
8 7
4 3
4 8
8 3
7 8
1

Now he is a well rounded big man without any guard skill below 10. So, you see - it is possible

And another one is on the market.

Mel Chopin (43217275). May be not the biggest fish in the pond. But he can be a decend trainee and reb 4 is not taking that much of hic cap. Starting price is 1k.

After a looooong silent time (which is quiet uncommon for me), I will just give you reviews about the last games of this season.

First, what was the target. First and foremost target was to be the Best american team and host the next continental championship. But, that is not so easy to get. But until now, we are on a good way.

Game 1: Austria vs. Canada 104 - 119, Match: (43902)
The Austrian team is not that weak, even if the "golden generation" is slowly bleeding out. But they are still able to pull an upset. But with LI, I attacked their weak point and so we won 119-104. And it is not really surprising, that the S5-C and PF were the top scorer in this game. and both scored a DD. Additional nice fact were the 7 assists of each of our starting guards. At the end it was a well deserved victory. 1-0

Game 2: Canada vs. Tunesia 108 - 72, Match: (43927)
Biggest success in this game was, that all 12 players got some minutes. And Hal was nominates as MVP of the game. He dominated th opponent´s C with 22 Points and 11 Reb in 29 min, with a FG% of 77% (10-13 FG). At the end it was the expected, unspectacular victory. 2-0

Game 3: Canada vs. Algeria 118 - 80, Match: (44004)
Next away game - next victory. This time, the opponent was quiet predictable. So, GDP was 100%-bullet. So, it was a great team effort, I can´t take one player out and say he was the key to the victory. The only negative thing to mention would be the 9 To´s, we produced. 3-0.

Game 4: Bulgaria vs. Canada 79 - 100, Match: (44047)
The match against Bulgaria was one of two crucial home games in the first stage of the tournament. And it was again a great team effort to win this game that clear. Interesting to see, was that the bench players did a great job and helped to score in this game. Also the 30 assists in this game were really great to see. We are on a really good way. Lets hope that some american teams struggle to make the next round 4-0.

Game 5:Canada vs. Uruguay 93-118 Match: (44074)
As expected the wins against Algeria and Tunisia were, as expected was the defeat by Uruguay. The game shape of the key players was not great and the opponent was really strong. So I decided not to put too much effort in this game and the course of the game showed, that I was right. I played RnG and my idea was to shoot them out of the building. But first, in the beginning I saw lots of drives and lay ups ... not really characteristic for RnG. And second some players struggled to find the basket. And if just one player from Position 1-3 is able to score, it is always hard to win. Anyway, we are still on track. 4-1.

The next games against Hungary and India (my former team) and in Australia, it is possible to reach the next round. And as we win our home games, we should go to the next round. Unfortunately, Jarvis is still injured and also need some recovery time to get in good shape.

About the player list, it is work in progress and it takes a bit more time than expected and working with a PhD-thesis is also quiet time consuming. But, I will deliver - sooner or later. See you around
