Hello,
There is a few things that new players should know about this game.

Firstly, the training process for the most part is not profitable. If you make niche players in the mid-value range using discount staff and trainees you can make profit, and some have shown this. The vast majority of the top-end players and the players that you will ready need at the upper levels are farmed. These players are made by teams that do not care about success. Sometimes they are old teams that have a lot of money in the bank. Basically the cost of buying players on the market is cheaper than the training cost. By a large margin.

With a large volume of FAs still constantly flooding into the game, and users still leaving more than they are joining, prices at all levels drop, pushing the cost to purchase from the list under the exorbitant training costs for staffs and staff bids.

The #1 key to success in this game is being able to sign on and make bids on the last 3 minutes of actions at any time of day any day of the week. The users who can and do do this are the most successful and dominant in BB hands down. It's not about strategies (you can just run LI, even if they predict you, if you have about the same or better players your LI will still win) and the minor details of Arena prices, enth. management, GS management etc. are pretty simple. New staff have been added to this game, at veteran (not new) player request to make it even easier provided you can sign on to buy those staff at cheap prices any given time of day any given day of the week. If you don't train then it is even easier to manage your team and rack up the most wins etc. with good GS and enth. as you go.

The purpose of having us sign on at any random hour of day for 3 minutes of an auction is to feed us advertisements so that the site can survive. Rather than shoot for more users the staff have decided their game will do best to do whatever it can do to trick users to sign on as often as possible and click through advertisements while bid-warring.

I heard there is a god of decency that is hell-bent on changing the name of this game from buzzer-beater to bid-war paradise but that is just fantasy.

So good luck with your bid wars everyone. And take this advice about this bid-wars-

If other people are bidding against you in the 11th hour you've already lost. The bid-wars that you win are the ones where there are few users on and luckily none were interested in that player you wanted so you were the only bid in that last 10 minutes or so and you snaked the player at super cheap below market. That is what bid-warring is about. IF you bid like crazy up above market value- then you are losing the game, because getting discounts on players is the biggest most lucrative advantage this game has to offer since everything else is so straight forward and cookie cutter.

Same for staff- most lucrative advantage of key staff is to buy them cheap at cheap salary. With staff it is easier to see the winners and losers of the bidwar odd-hour auction game because staff level, salary etc. are not subjective in value like players of different skills and builds etc. If one guy pays 1million for a staff of X level and another pays 500k for one of the same level with a lower salary than we can see the difference was who could be online at a weird hour or not. It's very clear how to win this game and what winning means. It means you signed on a lot at weird hours to make bids.

Good job.

In the beginning you still make the most money buying and selling but the 14 a year limit is the only issue dragging out the evolution for those who can waste their life signing on at weird times.

10-16 players a season can be bought and sold at like buying 10kish selling nearer 100kish to pull in a million or so the first season. The next season swappoing 50kish for 200kish and then up the ladder but also A lot of that (about 4million) early on gets sunk into arena.

A lot of that money is also mistakenly wasted on training for players that didn't realize that all the usable players for topend are just made by farm teams and the like who enver were competing anyway...

So then if you focus just on building a strong team and winning while swapping up the players value and profiting as you go, this is the best way to advance. Not scrooging or harding money .Skin in the game because this is really a stockmarket type simulation more than it is a basketball sim.

Hattrick-style staff seems fairer to me. Same price and salay for same level staff and hiring them instantly is better than auctions.

No,
Auctions were meant to sell advertising. Nothing more.

Yeah, it's pathetic....but that's par for course with how this game has been designed, dev'd, delivered...
