I was thinking about the tactics and maybe this could be a decent idea.
Give managers the option to give specific players instructions. Like I want my point guard to focus more on outside shooting or 3 pointers and my center to focus on scoring in the paint. And let a player focus on scoring or focus on passing.
On defense you could give them instructions like focus on help defense or stay with your man.
This would give you more tactical options and would allow teams that are active and (are good at) analyze there opponents to get an advantage which is also how it is in real life.
